Met a friend at a little bar nobody's heard about. Pretty nice place, good stone decor with cedar siding, lots of greenery.
He said it was his first time here too, he might leave in a bit but he's looking forward to coming back in a couple years.

The face of conservation, folks. Mark once again squeezed into his dry suit and spent hours snorkeling down a remote stream in 39F water. His work involves documenting the existence of Steelhead and other fish species in the streams of Southeast Alaska that lack official recognition as anadromous fish habitat. Check him out and consider funding a survey! @mhieronymus49 by @mhieronymus49

Snorkeling for hours in 4°C water (that's 39°for the freedom-unit users) for a handful of 5-second encounters is pretty high up there on the FunScale™. Most of it is type II fun, but hey, what isn't these days?

#PickinWithPa , dual-purpose lunchtime and new mandolin edition.
I didn't walk into @fiddlersgreenmusicshop lookin' to buy yet ANOTHER mandolin...but I did. This J. Hill A model hit me right in the ear, and although the tinny-ass cellphone mic doesn't do it justice, it's a super-sweet and buttery tone that I don't really have in the current crop of mandos.
The tune is Hooker's Hornpipe, and as you might notice, I'm still zeroing in on the "sweet spot" of where and how this particular instrument likes to be picked.
I think Pa would have liked this one.

TroutCamp '24 is a wrap, fisha.
Fur and plastic were thrown, fish were harassed, beer was drunk, questionable sandwich choices were made, and as usual, fun was had.
Already looking forward to next year.

Visited one of my favorite bars and hung out with an old friend. They had steak and eggs, we had a quick chat, then it was time to go. See ya next year.
