This is just one of our favorite streams to fish in the Tongass National Forest. We are permitted to operate on over 65 different streams, so you can fish new water every day of your trip. Photo by @briangrossenbacher for @simmsfishing

The face of conservation, folks. Mark once again squeezed into his dry suit and spent hours snorkeling down a remote stream in 39F water. His work involves documenting the existence of Steelhead and other fish species in the streams of Southeast Alaska that lack official recognition as anadromous fish habitat. Check him out and consider funding a survey! @mhieronymus49

Whew!! That went by fast! Just a few more trips left before our 2024 season is a wrap. Thanks to all the incredible guests, guides, pilots and support staff for making our 28th(!!!) year of operation a GREAT success!

Our 2025 schedule is already booking up, but first it’s time for some R&R 🏝️🏖️!

Meet Mark, Mark enjoys catching fish of all sizes and kinds, teaching people about the needs of different anadromous fish species, and documenting previously undocumented trout and salmon streams!

The AK Fish Habitat Mapping project adds habitat and species to the Anadromous Waters Catalogue with the help of local volunteers from the Tongass Chapter of Trout Unlimited. We join the fish in thanking everyone who has spent a day in the field with this project!!

Did a little something different this week and went out with @mhieronymus49 scouting a new stream for @troutunlimitedalaska to petition @adfgsoutheast_ak to put in the anadromous fish catalogue. Super fun experience getting out with an old friend meeting some new friends at the bar.

Very fun night corrupting dozens of people to the sport, and raising conservation awareness through Trout Unlimited! If you missed it, or want to bring someone into fly fishing, contact the shop and we'll let you know about upcoming opportunities! And consider a Trout Unlimited membership to stay up to date on events in the region!
