Your feed could use something good. Here. 🥹

🐾 Hank: Adopted. Every house needs a Hank, and one finally got the memo.

🐱 Jessica: Currently in foster, where she is feeling safe, loved and very comfortable with the arrangement.

💙 Bronn: Adopted. One of our longtime shelter favorites officially has a new place to call his own.

All three spent time in our care before getting to these very good updates. A big thank you to @purina for helping provide the food that keeps animals fed and cared for while they’re with Michigan Humane. 💙

SEND this to someone whose feed could use a little more of this. 🥹

I volunteered to take a dog out for the day at the @mhumane and was matched with Misty, a 9-year-old sweetheart who was recently surrendered. 💕 She is such a loving girl and is now looking for her forever home.

Misty is available for adoption with no adoption fee! 🐾

Come meet her at the Michigan Humane Society in Detroit. There will be other adoptable pets at the adoption event on Sunday, September 20, from 12PM-2PM at @855mikewins, 24901 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield, MI. taken in Detroit, Michigan by @mhumane

Your love for animals goes further than you may ever get to see.

It can show up in a field response. A medical procedure. A volunteer’s hands. An adoption. And hundreds of moments in between.

Today, it can go 3X further.

Through midnight, every donation to Michigan Humane is TRIPLE MATCHED.

Give. Share. Comment. Save. Let’s see how far that love can go. 🤍

Bella had plans. 💅🚗

At 9 years old, this sweet pit bull mix traded shelter life for a Dog Day Getaway: fresh air, new smells, plenty of attention and a very good day outside the shelter.

Want to give an adoptable dog a day like Bella’s? We’ll send you with their food and a seat belt for the car. You bring the adventure. 🐾

And speaking of hitting the road ,thank you to @cars_charitableadultrides for supporting Michigan Humane !

📸 Swipe through Bella’s day and tell us: where would you take her?

And if you’d rather take Bella home than bring her back… she’s available for adoption. 🤍

Today is #worldrabiesday, so let’s talk about something every pet owner should know: What to do if your pet has a potential rabies exposure‼️🚨

SAVE these steps so you have them if you ever need them:

1. Identify the animal involved.🦇
Take note of what kind of animal your pet encountered and where the interaction happened. In Michigan, bats are the most commonly reported rabid animal, but other wildlife can carry rabies too.

2. Remove your pet from the situation.🚫
Prevent any further interaction with the animal, without putting yourself at risk or attempting to handle wildlife.

3. Check your pet’s records.👀
Find their vaccination history and confirm whether their rabies vaccine is current.

4. Call your veterinarian.📲
Tell them what happened, what animal was involved and your pet’s vaccination status. They’ll help determine what needs to happen next.

Rabies is preventable, and knowing what to do after a potential exposure matters for both pets and people.

It’s better to know the steps before you need them.🐾🚫👀

Your Sunday assignment: SHARE this face. 🥹💙

Hershey Kiss is the kind of dog who may need a minute before he knows you’re safe. But give him that minute and you’ll meet one of the sweetest boys.

He’s nervous. He’s gentle. He’s ridiculously lovable. And he deserves more people knowing his name.

Hershey Kiss is available for adoption at our Mackey Center for Animal Care. Even if he isn’t your dog, one share could put him in front of the person he’s been waiting for.

And a huge thank you to @petcolove for supporting Michigan Humane and helping more adoptable faces like Hershey Kiss get seen. 💙

Share Hershey Kiss. Let’s see how far we can get this face today.

$Healing isn’t always just physical. ❤️🥺 When Squeaky arrived he was underweight, COVERED in fleas, frightened of people and dealing with a fractured leg. He needed medical care, but he also needed time. Warmth. Food. Patience. And people willing to show him that he was safe. Little by little, his body healed. And little by little, we started seeing him come through. That’s the work your support makes possible. Right now, donations to Michigan Humane are TRIPLED, helping provide medical and behavioral care for animals like Squeaky.🤎 Give through the link and your gift will go 3X as far ⬇️ https://give.michiganhumane.org/page/100466/donate/1?ea.tracking.id=lightbox #MichiganHumane #animalwelfare #betterwithpets taken in Michigan Humane by @mhumane$
