Just wrapping up a little writing, reading and hiking retreat by Quebec's observatory ✨🌚

I'm making good progress on book 3 😈

Also finished Robin Hobb's the Assassin's Apprentice - pretty good! I'll have to pick up book two, but for now started GRR Martin's Fevre Dream. I wanna finish my current TBR pile then pick up more Indies!

The forecast for the last day of our trip was heavy ⛈️ so in order not to die, we did two days worth of cycling in one (sadly skipping our night in Val David). We still ended up having to race out of a thunderstorm at one point 😅

After 205km of cycling and a 10k hike, legs are out of commission today. As Alex says, it's time to be a "potato couch". by @mia_writes_fantasy

Hiking around Portugal 🇵🇹 by day. Writing in the AirBnb by morning. (And then reading Dungeon Crawler Carl in the evening. That kinda happened unexpectedly but it was a good travel book choice!) by @mia_writes_fantasy

The chalet atop Montreal's mountain is such a beautiful place. Quiet but for the classical music playing through the speakers on this Wednesday morning. It's hard not to relax while seated in an Adirondack chair with this view.

Three months into being a full-time writer, also known as not working a day job. But I'm enjoying the time off. I've put all my energy into finishing book 2 and starting book 3. Also a side project building a video game with a friend (for funsies).

And this week I used my ol' software engineering skills to build an AI agent that can answer lore questions about my books/world (using RAG). That will come in handy! (Special thanks to my ex-coworker Victor for turning me onto Cloudflare's workers, so good to build with)

Winter feels endless this year. It began the day after Halloween and hasn't relented its hold on Quebec yet. But we're strong Nordic ladies. We still find ways to take advantage of it. 🏂⛷️

Enjoyed a walk with my beloved at dusk on our city's Mount Royal. Definitely one of my favorite spots, especially in winter.

Took my snowboard out for a quickie! This is the small mountain I learned to do this on at 15 years old, and those memories remain pretty strong as I recalled the shapes of the trails. ☺️ taken in Saint-Sauveur-des-monts, Quebec by @mia_writes_fantasy
