A little late but it’s ok, all in my own time 💆🏼‍♀️ this quarter last year I was going through chemotherapy and the ride of its set backs… but this time round, I got a year older 🫪 I hosted a baby shower, and watched my niece become a mum 🥹 my sister in law turned 18, and my brother in law made the move to Oz 🇦🇺 Vita and I turned in our annual leave and took a week off to explore the snow in the South Island ☃️ Trying to live more authentically and I’m really enjoying being in the moment. Next episode coming out soon 🫡❤️

1/4 of the year has already gone by, and boy did it fly. This time last year, I was fighting for my life — drawing from a strength within me I didn’t even know existed.

When you go through something as life-threatening as cancer and are given the grace to live again… what do you do? 🤔

For me, I’ve chosen to carry on — but differently.

I’ve filled my time with celebrations, birthdays, weddings, farewells and surprise engagements. I’ve gone to concerts. I’ve continued my advocacy work with Bowel Cancer NZ, and had the privilege of speaking in Parliament for the Never Too Young report.

I’ve returned to work with better boundaries and routines to take care of myself. I’m moving my body again, getting back into the gym, and proactively seeing a physiotherapist and chiropractor. I’ve sought support from a nutritionist, and I’m staying consistent with my medications, water intake, and sleep. 🧘🏼‍♀️

I’ve also found the courage to speak up — putting forward a complaint to Auckland City Hospital, because the care and support after oncology hasn’t been what it should be. I don’t want anyone else to have to struggle the way I have.

And maybe for the first time, I’ve allowed myself to be a little selfish — in the best way. I’m putting my energy where it matters most: into my healing, my wellbeing, and myself. And I’m finally okay with that.

But the most exciting part?
Planning the wedding of my dreams with the love of my life 💖

We’ve poured so much time, energy (and yes, money 😅) into selecting our wedding party , and now that it’s all coming together… the date feels closer, the anticipation is building, and it’s all starting to feel very real.

Cancer took a lot from me — but it also gave me a voice.

On 10 February, I had the honour of speaking at New Zealand Parliament as part of the Never Too Young report with @bowelcancernewzealand 💚

This wasn’t about sharing my story again — it was about making sure young people are seen, heard, and taken seriously.

Young people get bowel cancer.
Symptoms matter.
Family history matters.
And listening can save lives.

If this conversation helps even one person be taken seriously sooner, then using my voice is worth it.

Calling it now - 2026 is the year I get my life together AND enjoy the ride 🚙💨 healthy habits, big love and counting down till I become a Mrs. This will be the year that I show up for myself and for the people who carried me 🙏🏼

My cancer diagnosis stopped us from celebrating our engagement when we returned from overseas a year ago, but now that I’m cancer free - it was time to put on a party and celebrate with our nearest & dearest. Thank you all for showing up and out for us last night! We had our mum, aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews , grandparents n our good mates all come together as one to have a drink and a boogie. No matter how we’ve crossed paths with you all, you all play such an important role in developing us into the humans that we are today 🤍

I dedicated the night to Tevita, my soon to be husband. Thank you continuing to love me the same way you do since we first met 9 years ago. For always waking up and choosing me everyday. For having to compromise every now and then for the greater good. For being right by my side through all the rough, nasty and tough things we’ve endured. But most importantly, for being my number one supporter all round. Like I said in my speech, there’s no man on this earth that would come inside the toilet with me and help me at my lowest 🤞🏼

Last night was a taste and teaser of what our big day would be like - and honestly, I’m very confident in how we all will get together & celebrate our union 🥳
