Beyond how beautiful the attire is, the whole process of putting this shoot together was an experience in itself.

I was dressed and styled by a team of sweet local women, had my makeup done, and worked with an incredible photographer who was such a true pro. He carefully curated and guided every single pose to capture the traditional posture and flow of the silver.

Getting to do this made me feel even more immersed in the culture and the beautiful area I was staying in.

Definitely a core memory I’ll keep in my heart 🌾👑

China Diaries, Day 9 (Part II) 👑🌾

After taking in the quiet Mountain Views, I had the opportunity to experience somethjng special right the top of the terraces. 🏔️✨

I got to wear traditional Miao (苗族) attire.
The silver crown and chest pieces aren’t just for show. In Miao culture, the silver actually symbolizes good fortune, beauty, and protection. And the embroidery is basically a wearable history book, with patterns and stories passed down through generations of women 👑🪡

Being dressed in so much history was unforgettable. I felt so grateful just to be welcomed into that space and experience it up close.

China Diaries, Day 6 🎮🌸

No real plans. Just wandering through Guangzhou and ending up at Comic City.

What I thought would be a quick visit turned into hours of exploring arcade floors, anime stores, fashion shops, and collector displays.

I stumbled upon unexpected interests. Seeing Evangelion appear again all the way in China was one of those. It’s not exactly the most current fandom anymore, which made finding it even more fun 🤖✨ The displays alone were worth stopping for.

And of course, I couldn’t leave empty handed.

After all that exploring, I finally found a My Melody plushie 🌸🩷 who has officially joined the Sanrio collection back home.

We’re asking the most fashionable gamers we know how their fandom influences their identity and style.

Today we asked our friend @mica.bay (@michikolii): If you had to build your real-life wardrobe and personal style inspired by one fictional character, who would it be and why?

Some of the best travel moments are the ones you never see coming.

While exploring Shenzhen’s OCT Loft district, I unexpectedly became part of the immersive 30,000 Miles from Chang’an exhibition 🏮

A simple admiration quickly became participation. When I got invited to learn part of the choreography.

Through movement, costume, and shared experience, this moment gave me a completely different connection to the exhibition.

It’s these unexpected invitations into culture that made Shenzhen so unforgettable to me 💫

China Diaries, Day 2 - Stepping Into Chang’an🎐

While exploring Shenzhen’s OCT Loft district, I unexpectedly stepped into an immersive cultural experience inspired by 30,000 Miles from Chang’an (长安三万里)🏮

Walking through this exhibition led me into a world where Tang Dynasty culture, poetry, and history were brought to life through Hanfu, live performers, and interactive storytelling 📜

Wearing traditional clothing and experiencing the exhibition in such a participatory way made the entire moment feel incredibly vivid. Even without speaking Mandarin, the storytelling, atmosphere, and care behind every detail made it deeply immersive and accessible 🌸

China continuously amazed me with how thoughtfully culture and history were transformed into living experiences. Inviting visitors to truly engage instead of the usual observation.

As someone drawn to poetry, history, and meaningful artistic spaces, this experience stayed with me far beyond that day.

China Diaries, First bites in Shenzhen 🇨🇳🥢

Although I usually follow a vegetarian lifestyle 🌱, travelling always opens my curiosity in new ways, and Shenzhen was no exception.

From warm dim sum breakfasts 🥟 to beautifully crafted desserts 🍨 that looked almost too good to eat, food quickly became both a cultural experience and an adventure. Every meal felt thoughtful, detailed, and full of discovery.

Some highlights included:
• Playful Dim Sum Bao 🐷🍄
• Song Shu Yu (松鼠鱼 - Squirrel Fish) 🐟
• Hawthorn Jelly (山楂糕 - Shānzhā Gāo) 🍡
• Sesame Foo Dog Dessert (文创雪糕 - Wénchuàng xuěgāo) 🦁

And this was only the beginning.

🎂♡Happy birthday to me ♡🎂
and happy 6 years to my account 🌸

Last year I spoke about absence. This year I want to talk about return.

Life changed a lot. I changed a lot.
And somehow the path I’m walking now feels closer, softer, truer to who I really am (｡･ω･｡)♡

Coming back after being quiet for a while was scary…
but the way you welcomed me back like I never left?
The messages saying you missed me?
The excitement to see me again?

It held my heart so gently 🥺💖

It reminded me that I live in your memories too.
That this space waits for me whenever I am ready to return.
No pressure. Just love 🫶🏾

And that is something I will never take for granted ✨

Six years of this account.
Six years of finding myself again and again.
Six years of meeting kind souls who allow me to grow, disappear, evolve and still come back home (๑>◡<๑)

This new year of my life feels like opening a door 🚪🌷
New adventures are already running toward me, fast, unexpected, exciting.

I cannot wait to show you.
I cannot wait to share.
I cannot wait to become even more me.

Thank you for your endless support, your patience, your warmth.
Thank you for staying 💕💕

Let’s continue together 💫 by @mica.bay
