Music-making, not music-watching!

There are lots of music classes for young children. So what makes Tam Tam different?

At Tam Tam, your child doesn't come to watch a teacher perform. You come to make music together.

You sing.

You dance.

You shake, tap, drum, and play.

You listen.

You respond.

You make up your own movements and sounds.

And your child sees something incredibly important:
Music is something we DO -- not something we watch other people do.

Young children learn music through immersion, repetition, movement, exploration, and the example of the people they love. That's why grownup participation isn't just encouraged at Tam Tam. It's part of the experience. ❤️

We’re excited to announce Bed Stuy‘s own Maker‘s Space is taking over @micentrobk for the rest of the summer 🌈😎☀️

Vichitra aims to raise BIPOC, queer and trans voices in a time where our voices are being stifled. 💪🏼🏳️‍🌈⚡️We will continue to have oodles of good times and make sweet memories long after Pride Month has ended!

We hope to connect fellow queer makers and artists looking for a safe third space to unleash their creativity 🎨🫟🖌️

Check out what wondrous projects you can dig your hands into at Vichitra this summer ✨👉🏼✨

The space will be open to the public from M-F, 2-6pm for creatives looking for a place to complete their latest projects —from 3D printers, laser printers, CNC machines, we‘ve got a myriad of tools and supplies for community use 🤩

Keep an eye out on our calendar (🔗 in bio) for weekend clothing&gear exchange events, craft supply trading stations where you can trade supplies with fellow artists, and craft&yap sessions calendar 🗓️

Starting at 6:30pm on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we‘ll have workshops for folks interested in learning a new skill or creatives looking to pick up an old hobby 💪🏼⚡️🔨

☀️✨ Maker Espacio Summer Camp at Mi Casita ✨☀️

This summer, we’re building the city of our dreams—together 💫🏙️

At Maker Espacio, amigues ages 3–6 imagine, design, and create using natural materials, recyclables, textiles, clay, and more. Each week brings a new city-planning focus as children collaborate, experiment, and bring their ideas to life through open-ended play and art-making.

All of this happens en español, in a loving, creative space where language grows naturally through connection, curiosity, and joy 💛

🗓️ July 6 – August 21
🕘 Mon–Fri | 9am–3pm
➕ Extended day until 5pm available

Looking for a joyful, meaningful activity to share with your little one this spring?

Join us Tuesdays at 10:30am at Mi Centro in Bed-Stuy for music class with our wonderful teacher Talia, in a warm, welcoming space where children ages 0–5 and their grownups make music together.

In class, families experience:
- hands-on music-making (singing, movement, instruments, and play)
- gentle Spanish–English bilingual support woven naturally into the music
- beautiful songbooks, bilingual recordings + lyrics booklets so the music continues at home
- a supportive, joyful local community of families
