Posting this to document, process, and ask for prayer for my dude Jett.

In late July Jett had a fall off of his bicycle and started walking a little funny. He didn’t seem to be in intense pain, but we knew something was up. Over the span of 3 weeks we went to the ER twice and got some X-rays but everything looked okay so we were advised to go his primary and get referred to an orthopedic doctor.

After going to the orthopedic doctor and not getting any answers through bone scans, we were being referred to a specialist for further investigate. In this time period, Jett stopped being able to walk.

While we were waiting for the referral, Marin called and asked if we could get some bloodwork done just to see if there’s something there. On Thursday, sept 18th we went to get bloodwork then went the zoo. On Friday, Sept 19th we woke up to several missed calls at 5:30am from his pediatrician. When I called him back he said there was something off with his blood and that we needed to get to the ER for further testing. That afternoon we found out that Jett has leukemia.

I’m currently in an ambulance with Jett on our way to St Jude in Memphis. The road ahead is long but we know Who we belong to and who we have surrounding us. We’re extremely grateful for all who have prayed, texted, called, given, served, and ultimately come around us in this season.

My ultimate request is that you pray for my son. The thought of him having to endure what he has to endure hurts more than anything. We will keep you updated as we can but just wanted to thank each of you for all you’ve done. God is faithful and we trust Him. by @michael.blacc

A week ago yesterday we welcomed our little girl into the world.

This week has been full of sleepless nights, 2 zoo trips with my dudes, a few family car rides, several YouTube documentaries, and some really sweet moments.

Having a girl feels much different and way heavier. It’s a sweet reminder that I am actually incapable of doing any of this on my own. I need God for my marriage. I need God for my children. I need God for my responsibilities. I just need God.

I’m grateful that His grace is sufficient beyond my feelings and that He’s in control even when I think I am. I’m grateful for His patience, His patient discipline, and the blessings that He brings when I don’t deserve them.
