🎗️Just because there’s cancer doesn’t mean there can’t be JOY🎗️

It’s been one year since Jett was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. One year of chemo, one year of medications, one year of procedures, one year of port accesses, one year of constant hospital visits & stays, one year of learning, & one year of fighting.

And the craziest part is we aren’t even close to being done. We’re not even a year in to a 2.5 year treatment protocol. And so right now, we are still very much in the trenches.

But in this season, there’s something that I am learning about the trenches — God is there too. And joy is there too. And that doesn’t mean it’s not hard, and that doesn’t mean that there’s never deep pain or grief — but it does mean that there’s a constant hope.

It really is the paradox of Christianity — that we can walk through the hardest, most painful, most heartbreaking trials and YET, at the exact same time, we can experience the most genuine hope & joy in Christ. Because we know that He’s with us, and working for our good, and revealing Himself to us in the midst of it.

This year I’ve learned that there really is this inexplicable joy that can only come from seeing Him in the midst of deep pain and suffering. And when I look at my family, all I can see is that joy.

I am so insanely grateful that my sweet friend @sarahashleyphotography captured these pictures of our family in the midst of Jett’s treatment. Because whenever I look back on this season years from now, I wanna remember that there was joy too. That in the midst of all the hard, there really was a deep, undeniable joy that only could’ve come from Christ.

This year wasn’t a guarantee. And it definitely wasn’t owed to us. But we are so grateful to God for every minute that we’ve gotten with our sweet Fighter Jett.

We are so proud of you, sweet boy💛

Accidentally committed to doing a crazy running challenge without even thinking about how hard it would be. 48 miles in 48 hours running 4 miles every 4 hours on the dot. 8pm, 12am, 4am, 8am etc…

I grew a lot through this mentally, having to rely on the Lord for strength and endurance that I haven’t leaned on lately and also the best community in the world. So grateful for everyone who helped encourage, ran some laps, and cheered us on!

I think the 4x4x48 is going to grow quite a bit next year… Randye & Cody might need to get a bigger garage and more waffles. I apologize to Strava for 12 uploads in 2 days. But hey… no back pain??? Sick

4x4x48 ✔️
To everyone who came out and knocked out loops with us throughout the weekend, the miles were easier because of you. And the texts of “what loop are you on?”. Y’all are the ones.

To the crew that was in it for the long haul, grinding through the early mornings, late nights, tired legs, and questionable nutrition choices—you made the weekend what it was.

A special shoutout to my husband, who apparently doesn’t understand that 4x4x48 equals 48 miles and decided we should “go one more” to make it an even 50.

A lot of miles, a lot of sodium, very little sleep, and a whole lot of gratitude for this community. Hard things are better together.

👀 peep the emotional support waffle.

four years over in a blink of an eye. thank you Lord for bringing me here for what I thought was to run, but instead a place of true growth and so much more. I am beyond blessed to have met such amazing people that have encouraged, poured into, and been a huge part of my college journey. I’ve learned so much about myself (good and bad) and truly have just learned to lean upon the Lord through it ALL! Romans 8:28 & 12:12

Take a quick look into a very abbreviated timeline of my time on the hill, with the best slide for last. @leahfyrn I can’t wait to marry you

Big Shoutout to Michael Black for coming to pour into our students today!💥He taught that Jesus is patient with us and loves us through it all! Just as He loved Peter through the denial and was there to cook breakfast for him after the resurrection, Jesus is waiting on you to come just as you are and be with Him today!🤎

Thank you also to Cowboy Country Fellowship for providing the amazing breakfast!🔥

Thank you all that made this year’s FCA Experience a memorable one!🎉We are now actively seeking students to fill key spots on our leadership team for the 26-27 school year. If you are interested please reach out to Coach Jason Brown or Jordan Barrett for more details!✨
