Behind The Scenes of Don Toliver “E85”

Flying in close proximity to @fred_north during an extraction sequence over LAPD HQ with talent hanging off the helicopter skid.

Capturing air-to-air footage at 450mm demanded an exceptional level of coordination between flight crews, camera department, and stunt team throughout the entire sequence.

To build the live news helicopter aesthetic we configured an ALTA X carrying a Sony camera package paired with a Fujinon 21-300mm expanded to 31-450mm.

Proud of the Camera On Wings team for executing a complex multi-aircraft operation with a precise, safety-first workflow while keeping the creative fully intact.

Aerial work for Love Death + Robots.

From following the car through winding coastal roads to sweeping low over the ocean, from dolphin’s OTS shots to God’s-eye POV and beyond... this one was special.

It’s an honor to have my aerial work featured alongside legends like David Fincher and Tim Miller.

Love, Death + Robots: Season 4 now on Netflix.

Behind the scenes of the Blackhole video. We planned the opening shot as a continuous backward fly-through of the oil rig. The vocalist would appear first, followed by each band member as the drone moved through a narrow gap in a high-top platform, revealing the drummer on the first snare flam hit, and the guitarist and bassist as their parts kicked in. The main challenge was safely executing the flight path in extremely close proximity to the talent while keeping the drone at the perfect speed to sync with the song’s intro. Along with this complex opening shot, our team at Camera On Wings captured cinematic climbing and descending orbits with the Inspire 3, overhead shots, fly-throughs, pull-aways, and my personal favorite - dynamic shots of the guitarist on the smokestack helipad, filmed on a 75mm f/1.8 FF macro lens. Since Architects is one of my favorite bands, it was an absolute honor to be part of the Blackhole shoot as the Inspire pilot and aerial DP.

Aerial DP for Architects - Blackhole.

It was an honor to work on a music video for one of my all-time favorite bands. From Hollow Crown to their latest The Sky The Earth & All Between they’ve consistently delivered incredible music and energy.
I highly recommend checking out the video on YouTube and preordering their new album dropping on February 28th!
