Michael (@michael_okaa) interviews Muhammad Malik (@grindsznn) from Zalik Academy (@zalikacademy) for a conversation about community, creating opportunities, and the work being done to support the next generation. 🎤🔥

From the vision behind Zalik Academy to the importance of investing in young people, Mohamed shares more about the impact they’re working to create and why spaces like this matter.

Great conversation, great energy, and an important reminder of what can happen when community comes together. 🙌🏾

More interviews dropping soon! 👀

Sometimes you just need a coffee, a good convo, and a place to slow down for a minute.

I found that at @charmcafetoronto. A little coffee, creativity, and community goes a long way.

Captured a conversation with a local client and Owner of @studio.charm Natalija.

We talked about the importance of supporting local businesses and how The Queensway area has many places to visit and experience.

Sometimes the best spots are in your neighbourhood, you just have to make the time to explore! by @michael_okaa

26 years in the business - one coffee and haircut at a time.

I spent some time with Natalija, the owner of @studio.charm, to hear the story behind 26 years of building, adapting, and continuing to show up.

There’s always something special about hearing the stories behind the places that make up our city, happy to be in the middle of it all.

As someone who’s also 26 it’s surreal seeing a business celebrate the same milestone.

Thank you to Natalija and her family for welcoming me in!

You already know I’ll be back for that London fog and croissant 👌🏿

Caught up with my bro @yansialexavier after the listening party for “3!5”. The night was full of good energy, great people, R&B doing R&B does.

Appreciate Yansi for chopping it up with me and capturing this part of the night.

If you love R&B, go give 3!5 a listen, out now available on all streaming platforms 🙏🏿

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE WORK & THE MEMORIES

There’s a lot that goes into making something feel effortless. It's even better when you see it right in front of your eyes.

The lighting.
The cameras.
The conversations.
The people behind the scenes making sure everything keeps moving.

I got to experience all of it at the CTRL+ALT+BEAT season finale, and it reminded me why I love paying attention to the details behind the work.
So I wrote about it.

“It's All In The Details” — now live on Substack.

I tried a likkle something different with this one too - recorded the article in my own voice for anyone who wants to press play and experience the story that way.

Read it. Listen to it. Let me know what you think, link in my bio 🙏🏿

Keep up the solid work @ctrlaltbeatt 🤞🏿 by @michael_okaa

Had the honour of being in the middle of the @embersforaccessfoundation 3v3 basketball charity event hosted w/ @zalikacademy.

To everyone who helped bring this together - the brands, the players, the community, and everyone who showed up - this was one bigger than basketball.

It was an amazing experience and happy I could be there to help capture this special event with @streetvoicesto 🙏🏿

Sometimes the interruptions and random moments make the best conversations. The best thing about this clip is how it shows the human experience, showing laughs, random side conversations, and a little bit of food too.

This is @ctrlaltbeatt a live recording talk show that has now completed their 3rd episode. Caught up with @chelsi_campbell & @tiisania to see how they are feeling post show, what it takes to keep things moving from the start, and how much effort is required to keep the conversation moving forward.

More to share soon, but remember you can go purchase Ep4 tickets for @ctrlaltbeatt next live show happening this Thursday right now!

We hope you enjoy,
