POSTS STORIES REELS

Hey! We’re Bright Matter Studio — the artist duo Kim Carlino & Michael Crigler, we’re here to turn blank walls into bold, joyful experiences💫

We’re muralists, designers, and art consultants who believe public art should do more than decorate — it should connect, uplift, and reflect the spirit of a place.

Our work lives at the intersection of color, pattern, story, and place. We collaborate with developers, architects, cities, brands and cultural organizations to create site-specific works that make people feel something — pause, wonder, joy, belonging.

Based on the East Coast and working nationally, we’ve painted walls from housing developments to creative campuses to downtown corridors, always grounded in one core belief: art belongs everywhere people do.

If you’re into color reveals, behind-the-scenes process, expressive geometry, and the occasional chaos of painting in public, you’re in the right place!

Thanks for being here! Let’s make something bright together ❤️

🚨 A little sneak preview of my latest work from my series Infinite Realities, this one is titled Quantum Entanglement. Let me know what you think!!

#artistinstudio #contemporaryart #quantumentanglement #newwork by @michaelcriglerart

💗 New painting from my Infinite Realities series.

This work explores the conversations that seem to be effortlessly in concert between the micro worlds that exist (within and without us), and macro worlds that expand beyond our limits of knowing and perceived perception. The blending of these intricate ecosystems that create matter and make up everything we know (and yet to fully understand).

What are the triggers for harmony or dissonance and how it relates to matter? How does an emotion, color, shape or light affect how you feel and in turn how does that ripple out into your own reality?

What connects us—to the natural world, to one another, and to the many selves we carry within us? 🌿

Meet That Which Remains Unbroken by M Rudder, an artist whose practice explores identity, the sacred, belonging, and our interconnectedness with the natural world.

As M writes in their artist statement, their work seeks to “explore and affirm the multitudes we contain.” Their practice reaches beyond artmaking, bringing together creative community-building, spiritual reflection, and a commitment to reclaiming connection and belonging. Through this expansive lens, their work invites us to consider what holds us together, what sustains us, and what endures even through change.

With That Which Remains Unbroken, M brings these questions into the public spaces of Northampton, inviting us to pause and reflect on the invisible threads connecting us to each other and the world around us.

✨ TINY ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: CICELY CAREW | WANDERING DELIGHT

What if joy could change the way we experience the world? 👀

Meet Wandering Delight by Cicely Carew, a multidisciplinary artist whose vibrant, immersive practice explores joy, embodied experience, memory, and transformation.

For Carew, joy is more than a feeling—it can be a force for liberation, opening up new ways of seeing, connecting, and being in the world. Through color, movement, and intuitive material exploration, her work invites us to embrace the unexpected and remain open to the possibilities that emerge when we let ourselves wander.

With Wandering Delight, that spirit feels right at home in Fun Sized. What happens when we slow down, follow our curiosity, and allow ourselves to experience a familiar place differently? Sometimes the smallest encounters can shift our perspective—and remind us that delight is something worth seeking.

What if the inner worlds we carry could take on a physical form? 👀

Meet Static Spirit by Chelsea Dupuis, a multimedia artist whose work explores the dream world, symbolism, and the subconscious dimensions of human connection.

Working across installation, sculpture, weaving, jewelry, metalsmithing, painting, and printmaking, Chelsea transforms intangible thoughts and emotions into tangible forms. Her practice investigates the unseen emotional architectures that shape our relationships, using material and symbolic imagery to map the landscapes of memory, feeling, and the psyche.

With Static Spirit, Chelsea brings that spirit of exploration to Fun Sized, inviting us to consider what exists beneath the surface—those elusive connections and inner experiences that shape how we move through the world.

✨ TINY ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SCOUT CUOMO | DENIZEN

🌊 What does it mean to belong to a place—to be part of its living, breathing world?

Meet DENIZEN by Scout Cuomo, a multidisciplinary artist based in Greenfield, Massachusetts, whose work explores the relationship between the human and natural world.

Scout’s distinctive process layers rich pigments between translucent sheets of cured polymer resin on lucite or glass, creating luminous works with extraordinary depth and movement.

With DENIZEN, the title itself invites us to consider what it means to be an inhabitant—to exist within a place, rather than simply pass through it. It’s a fitting question for Fun Sized, where tiny artworks invite us to reconsider our relationship with the places we think we already know.
