Back in July, I lost my cousin in a tragic accident. One of the last things we talked about was this Ironman. I didn’t know it then, but his encouragement would become the anchor for one of the hardest seasons of my life.

After he passed, I didn’t know what to do with all the sadness, the anger, the weight of it. So I followed his mantra: “Stay true.”
True to the work, true to the hurt, true to his memory.

When training got rough, I thought of him. When the course got quiet, I thought of him. And when I finally crossed that finish line, I felt something close to peace; not because the pain was gone, but because I carried him through every mile.

Date night for our last night in Rome

I asked the mixologist to hit me with a fruity, refreshing tequila drink and he did not disappoint

Gonna be thinking about this one for a long time
