Happy to be back in Denmark after a wonderful two weeks in Singapore, although it’s a little too cold and snowy here for my taste ⛄️❄️

Grateful to have been awarded Second Prize, as well as a three-year loan of a beautiful violin🥈🎻
Looking forward to sharing it very soon!

Thanks to @sivcsg for an unforgettable experience. It was a great pleasure to play Shostakovich with @joshuaconducts and @singaporesymphony and also debut in my first public quartet performance with fantastic @shanghaiquartet!🤩😅 by @michaelgermerviolin

Celebrating the birthday of my favorite composer today: Richard Strauss! 🦅

Strauss wrote this sonata when he was my age and as a huge fan of his massive orchestral tone poems, I just love how you can already hear that signature symphonic power bursting out of just two instruments!

Here is a clip from the coda of the 3rd mov!

Thanks to @larsenstrings for always providing me with fresh strings!🌱

On my Guadagnini I use the Larsen "Il Canone" Gold set for some extra warmth! While I equip my Mezzadri from 1695 with the "Direct and Focused" version!🎻🎻

Highly recommend both sets!!

In January I had the pleasure of playing the always wonderful Bruch Concerto with Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Eschenbach. Here the ending of the Finale can be heard!

Posted @withregram • @wfimc 📍WFIMC SERIES Season 2: ☕️An Espresso with WFIMC Laureates
Vol.22 : Michael Germer, Violin
⠀
Danish Violinist Michael Germer, 18, already has won prizes at several competitions, including the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. Last month he won 2nd Prize at the Khachaturian Intl. Violin Competition in Yerevan, Armenia- held entirely online!
⠀
☕️ What music do you like to listen to when you wake up?
🍨 I often find myself waking up with Schubert in my ears. Perhaps Schubert is the music of the dreams?
⠀
☕️ What makes you smile most in these days?
🍰 Watching animals! And then of course playing and enjoying great music!
⠀
☕️ While staying at home and not being able to travel, what inspires you most?
🧁 I am now re-reading The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. A story of a boy with a big heart that had lived his whole life in isolation on a small planet with the company of a single rose. Besides being a wonderful story, one can - especially in these times - learn infinitely much from this little prince. He is the best person I know...
