Last Thursday, a dream of a lifetime happened, we had a husband and wife show at the Leica Gallery in Los Angeles. I have always wanted a partner I could share my life with on that level. We had a near record 400 people on opening night, with friends, colleges, clients, punk lovers, exotic dancer aficionados and photography lovers. A wild time was had by all!

I want to thank Paris Chong, James Agnew and the whole Leica family. I also want to thank our photographers for the night- Billy Bennight and Earl Gibson III, and of course my incredible wife.

The initial explosion of Punk as an evolution of rock'n' roll was discounted by the entrenched corporate powers that pushed music as a profit product. The overproduced rock hierarchy, its corporate, shareholder-driven profit margins, and its disconnection from a generation drove the birth of Punk.

I had the opportunity to photograph @tomfordbeauty model @desireewallis to capture the dualities of her life as both a working model and a mother, combining an editorial concept with more traditional modeling portraits.

We shot everything at her home in La Jolla, even turning her garage into our studio for part of the day. Read the full story behind the shoot and see the photographs we created together in the Blog Highlights in the bio!

Better late than never, LOL. You could have listened to @deathcabforcutie on @FLOODMagazine Radio. Maybe you can still find it.

Do you know how they got their name? It's the name of a song by the '60s band Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

I had a nice use of my Tina Weymouth image, along with two @talkingheadsofficial images, for a feature in @FLOODMagazine on the husband-and-wife team Tina Weymouth and @frantzchris.

Take a look at the full feature at Featured Highlights on my page.

My digital cover of @floodmagazine, yeah! Thank God for selfies. I guess they shot that just in case the shoot didn't work out, LOL.

Thankfully, it did.

So proud of my cover feature in @floodmagazine for @deathcabforcutie. The PR person nixed the best pic, which is unexpected.

You can read the full story at Featured Highlights on my page.

And the missing soldier is here. What do you folks think? Should they have used the mirror image also??

My show at @bba.gallery garnered some great press, namely from @SLEEKmag.

I was interviewed one morning with my co-exhibitor, @perschorn. I had images of bands from the late '70s and '80s, and Per had images of bands from the '90s. SLEEK spoke with us about the work, the music, and being part of the movement.

Punk music and culture were born of rebellion. It was a rebellious spirit against the complacency that had become rock and roll. The generational evolution had become homogenized, overproduced, and became the standard sound of commercial and mall music.

The music was only part of the rebellion. Read the full story on the blog at Featured Highlights on my page.

The photograph looks effortless. It is not. The final image as it appears in print or on screen took considerable time in planning and staging. From concept to delivery, the anatomy of a photoshoot combines creative vision, technical prep, and skillful implementation.

Smartphones changed the face of photography. Photography has continually evolved since the age of big-box cameras that only a few could afford. The Kodak Brownie was one of the first cameras introduced that made photography available and accessible to everyone. Even at this major milestone in the evolution of photography, the expense of taking photos was a factor for the majority. @Kodak made the camera and film more affordable, yet every click of the shutter carries an expense in the cost of film and in development.

Discover how photography became accessible to everyone at Featured Highlights on my page.
