What a blast doing a masterclass on brushes with @udelpercussion. Here’s a clip of one of my all time favorite albums “Bug Music” by Don Byron on my favorite @dunnettclassicdrums & @stanton_moore Titanium snare drum. Thank you @genekoshinski @timbroscious and the students for having me, and for stirrin’ that soup w/ some brushes! \\//\\// #universityofdelaware #udel #genekoshinski #vintage #vintagedrums #fall #autumn #leaves #nature #windishmusic #drums #drummer #brushes #brushwork #livemusic #streetperformance #jazz #antique #snaredrumfreakz #brushplaying #stirringthesoup #snaredrumgeek #travel #wanderlust #junkrock #junkrockdrums #markjuliano #vicfirth #claytoncameron #paulmotion taken in University of Delaware by @michaelwindish

20 show openings in one week. I’m so grateful for each of our partner attractions, parks, resorts, cruise lines, and each onsite staff we get to collaborate with on a daily basis. And I’m forever thankful for my @windishentertainment team and installers who hit-the-ground-running creatively while keeping the steady hand needed to implement this volume of quality. I could only share a small sample of some of these shows here, there are MORE to come! Happy October and see YOU soon at another experience! #windishentertainment #togetherontheupbeat #comecreatewithus #liveentertainment taken in Windish Entertainment by @michaelwindish

🎧 Travel brushes on paper bag w/ Thelonious Monk. There is no better album to work on brush phrasing IMO than “Solo Monk”. Also makes me wish I was a tap dancer. Brushes do clear the mind for me, as does good music. @vicfirth #michaelwindish #windishentertainment #vicfirth #brushes #theloniousmonk taken in Kiel, Germany by @michaelwindish

I pencil-sketched letters & the iconic @drumscratcher John Aldridge engraved this funky brass drum shell. Sweet human, John is. I’m thrilled to play this tank of a drum! #michaelwindish #johnaldridge #ludwigdrums #snaredrum #drumengraving taken in Chicago, IL by @michaelwindish

Sad to learn about the passing of the great Austin Rodriguez of Dangriga, Belize this past winter. Austin was very kind welcoming Aubree and me to his beachside workshop. I made several trips to Belize, some of which to experience Garifuna music to bring to my lessons in the U.S. Others just to explore with Aubree. We went on a drum hunt and ended up in Dangriga, where Austin built me a drum, allowing me to help with some of the finishing touches, wires, and drum head. This was 13 years ago and I lost touch with many folks in Dangriga, Gales Point, Belize City (social media was younger and less frequent back then). Thank you for your enormous contribution to Belizean music and Garifuna culture, Austin 🙏🏽 #austinrodriguezgarifunadrumcarver #belize #dangriga #garifuna #austinrodriguezbelize taken in Belize - Dangriga by @michaelwindish

Incredible workshop with the iconic @holidayworld team at Windish Studios this week. I’m very proud of @katiebartomeo and @carlymlawrence for creating endless memorable moments in their shows this week for the guests of Holiday World. And the cast are among the sweetest and most talented humans we’ve encountered. Dream team 🔥 at @windishentertainment. Can’t wait to delight the guests of Holiday World! #windishentertainment #holidayworld #westchesterpa #santaclausindiana #liveentertainment taken in Windish Entertainment by @michaelwindish

🎧 100 year old Ludwig snare makes its way across the Atlantic Ocean, from Ibiza Spain to Philly, bought from my friend Javier. Portugal is in the background for the 30 seconds I had with this drum before heading back to work. @vicfirth brushes on the OG calf head on this historic drum. #michaelwindish #junkrockdrums #vicfirth #windishentertainment #ibiza taken in Portugal by @michaelwindish
