Another amazing weekend of masterclasses with the one and only Todd Sucherman (Styx). Just like my multiple lessons with Jim Chapin and other great teachers I had it’s always great to keep developing the techniques we learn and keep picking up new things that I didn’t catch in the class before. Thank you to the tri-state drum community who continues to support these awesome experiences! If you haven’t been to a class please listen to the whole video. It’s never too late to keep improving as a musician on any level, while also having a fun experience you’ll be talking about forever, or at least till the next one! Speaking of that Todd will be returning in January so contact me to get your seat the next class! #drums #drumlessons #sabiancymbals_official #remodrumheads #sonordrums

About 300 great drum friends have attended Todd’s Primary Masterclass, which focuses on technique, ergonomics, form, along with mental and physical relaxation techniques for maximum performance. This class is recommended but not necessary to attend the V2 classes.

The V2 Masterclass focuses on new ways of thinking about orchestrating ideas around the drum set. This class will teach you ways of exploring different stickings and applications to create a flow of new ideas— even with common rudiments you already know. Join Todd in this rhythmic pathway of discovery which will change your musical outlook.

@billygladstonedrums shows off this beautiful @gretschdrums Gladstone in Gold Sparkle snare drum!

Let's see what he has to say about it:

“Gretsch Gladstone in Gold Sparkle. Late 30s, maybe early 40s (Gold Hardware was advertised in a catalog by 1939). My favorite hardware of any drum. Using art deco, form and function, notice the 3-way key that designates the different options with 1, 2, or 3 stripes. 3-Way functions well, someone removed the original tone control and added a different one. Player snare, but arguably still equally as hard to come across as the original Gladstone snares.

@gretschdrums @junkrockdrums @michaelwindish “

What a beautiful piece of history!!

Shout out to @billygladstonedrums for sharing this with us all!

What an awesome weekend this was for everyone who attended! Thank you again to Thomas Lang for sharing so much knowledge with all of us and also keeping it fun! I can’t say enough about all of the great people that we all might not of shared these friendships and memories without these events! There is so much value to showing up to these events and learning to have more fun playing music and educating yourself! You can’t get this experience sitting on your couch staring at your phone while you comment on social media posts. I encourage you to seek out knowledge from the artists when they come to your area for these masterclasses! So far I’ve hosted Todd Sucherman, Mike Mangini, Chris Coleman, Steve Smith, and Thomas Lang! I hope you’ll reach out to me about how you can become part of these events and how we can all also continue to support our great local drum shops and drum shows! #thomaslang #drums #thedrumfort
