Tonight, Bob Chiarito received his copy of the beautifully written @tonyfitzpatrick9 resolution from the City of Chicago. Courtesy of @joemetro40 and @michele_fitzpatrick
Bobby gets a bad rap, mostly because he is so annoying and is such a miserable curmudgeon. However, Bob is one of the finest old timey shoe leather reporters around. Regularly featured page one of The New York Times and often in our very own Chicago Sun-Times. (I am frankly surprised he ever made it through the front door of the building without quickly being escorted from the premises but what do I know?) Bob’s frequent feuding with the late, great Tony Fitzpatrick was utterly hilarious at times. Bob really got under Tony’s skin and I could never understand why. I just ignored Bob when he’d bash our beloved White Sox with his dim-witted humor. But it dawned on me recently that Tony truly loved Bob no matter how irritating he was. And, incidentally, Bob wrote that resolution and nailed it. So heres to you Bob! I will never break my promise to our dearly beloved deceased friend and stop busting your chops but we all still love you no matter how hard you make it for us! #peanutparktrattoria #littleitaly by @michele_fitzpatrick

Inconsolable about the passing of Tony Fitzpatrick. What an amazing man and artist. My thoughts are with his family. This picture was taken on my last night in Chicago many years ago. This would be the last time I saw Tony. Hope you’re having a blast where you are my friend. X by @michele_fitzpatrick
