Ākāśa 🌌

A Gong & Sound Immersion, held in the field of space

Ākāśa is the Sanskrit word for the fifth element - ether, space, the invisible field in which sound, breath, thought and sensation all arise. And all return to.

This evening is an invitation to dissolve into that space.

I have been waiting to share this collaboration since the moment it came together. Michelle Schofield - founder of Awaken Breath & Sound Sanctuary - is one of the most powerful gong practitioners I know. She trained in an intensive Gong & Sound Masterclass with Xiong Yin, and what she does with that instrument is nothing short of elemental. I will be alongside her the entire time, weaving crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes and percussion into the field she creates - two practitioners, multiple instruments, one continuous bath of layered, living sound.

The gong does not ask permission. Its full spectrum vibration bypasses the thinking mind almost entirely and lands directly in the body - in the fascia, the nervous system, the places words cannot reach. Paired with the bowls it becomes something you have to experience to understand. First timers are always surprised. There is nowhere to hide. And nowhere you need to be.

We will guide you in gently. We will bring you back just as gently. Everything in between belongs to the sound.

And we get to do all of this on The Space Between’s 5th birthday 🎉. Five years of this beautiful studio holding space for this community. We could not think of a more fitting way to celebrate. 🎂

As a breathwork Facilitator and sound healing therapist, it's important to me that this is a sacred space...the moment you walk into the sanctuary, it just feels like home.

Then.....and Now. But there's no new photo to share. Consider for a moment just how difficult this is for a grieving parent, no new memories to make. 23 months today Troy, I miss all the conversations we never got to finish, all the ordinary days we thought we still had coming. It's not just the day you died, but everyday since then. I never for one second could have imagined how painful this would be.
I remember this photo, taken in prince albert....the way we are holding on to each other, a bond never broken by death.
We miss you my boy.
