Many moons 🌓 ago I reached out to @michelle.pure to collaborate on one of the Sound Sutra series events and join me with her magnificent gongs. After many rehearsals and learning the art of feeling and listening we held Ākāśa - A Gong and Sound Immersion at @thespacebetweenplett aligning with their 5th birthday celebration.

It was an incredibly magical moment of synchronising these powerful instruments. There were times I felt like I was with the whales. Then with the aliens. But mostly I believe the audience there receiving this gift was the biggest blessing.

Grateful to go deeper and deeper into sound and all the magic and depth that it encompasses. Grateful for how it saves me daily. Grateful for @thespacebetweenplett for trusting us to host this event on such a special day for you. Grateful to all those who attended.

@michelle.pure thank you for you gentleness and alchemy on your instruments. You have taught me so much about how powerful gongs can be when played with softness.

The final part of the sound sutra series in South Africa for 2026 takes place on Saturday, 31 October. The event is called Nāda - A chanting and Sound Journey. I hope to see you there 🎶🥰💖

5 MAGICAL YEARS OF THE SPACE BETWEEN

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our 5th anniversary with us.

What a milestone we have achieved together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped create and give birth to this beautiful space, to all our incredible teachers and facilitators who have brought their energy, passion and magic here, and to every single student who continues to breathe life into The Space Between.

This space exists because of all of you.

Our celebration opened our hearts, filled us with joy and reminded us how precious it is to have a space where we can come together, connect, move, breathe, create, laugh and share this beautiful journey with like-minded beings.

Here’s to the next big milestone - and to many more years of connection, community, love, growth and magic.

With so much gratitude and love,

An immersion into spaciousness with Natalie Zeid - a collaboration with Michelle Schofield, a student of gong master Yin Xiong.

Saturday, 26th September
4.30 to 6.00 PM
The Space Between, Plett

Ākāśa is the Sanskrit word for space - the fifth element, the field in which all other elements move. This is not a gentle drift into rest. It is an invitation to dissolve.

The gong is one of the most powerful instruments in sound healing. Its full-spectrum vibration bypasses the thinking mind almost entirely, moving directly into the body - shifting brainwave states, loosening held tension in the fascia and nervous system, and creating a profound sense of space within. First-timers are always surprised. There is nowhere to hide, and nowhere you need to be.

Natalie will hold this space with the same grounded, therapeutic presence she brings to all her work - informed by years of yoga therapy and breathwork training, and a deep understanding of how the body processes sound and sensation.

Ākāśa 🌌

A Gong & Sound Immersion, held in the field of space

Ākāśa is the Sanskrit word for the fifth element - ether, space, the invisible field in which sound, breath, thought and sensation all arise. And all return to.

This evening is an invitation to dissolve into that space.

I have been waiting to share this collaboration since the moment it came together. Michelle Schofield - founder of Awaken Breath & Sound Sanctuary - is one of the most powerful gong practitioners I know. She trained in an intensive Gong & Sound Masterclass with Xiong Yin, and what she does with that instrument is nothing short of elemental. I will be alongside her the entire time, weaving crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes and percussion into the field she creates - two practitioners, multiple instruments, one continuous bath of layered, living sound.

The gong does not ask permission. Its full spectrum vibration bypasses the thinking mind almost entirely and lands directly in the body - in the fascia, the nervous system, the places words cannot reach. Paired with the bowls it becomes something you have to experience to understand. First timers are always surprised. There is nowhere to hide. And nowhere you need to be.

We will guide you in gently. We will bring you back just as gently. Everything in between belongs to the sound.

And we get to do all of this on The Space Between’s 5th birthday 🎉. Five years of this beautiful studio holding space for this community. We could not think of a more fitting way to celebrate. 🎂

Last year I was undergoing a personal transformation and I was guided on a Gong Sound Training. Privileged to join an intensive 7 day masterclass with @xiong_yin , here I was guided into the world of Gong & Sound music. This training was not just an education but an Initiation, leaving with a deepened skill & profound connection to the spirit of Sound.
I'm now ready to share with you my unique version of Breath & Gong experience at Awaken Sanctuary.
