Such a special moment, that I’ll forever cherish. Our mother - son dance to “Her Little Man” by @jamigroomsmusic! It’s the sweetest song and felt so perfect for us. And I have to say - I’m quite proud of me and Paxton for holding it together because we both cried listening to it beforehand and figured we’d both be a blubbering mess during our dance! It ended up being a sweet time of us laughing together and talking about the day. Definitely one of my favorite moments of the night! Love my sweet boy with the chocolate chip eyes!!

My Micah is coming home today!!! We haven’t seen him in over six months, and my arms are aching to squeeze him!! If you happen to be at the Atlanta airport later this evening, ignore the old lady squeeling and sobbing!! 😅

We are so proud of @micahbush22 for another awesome year at Montana State! We may be 2300+ miles away from him, but I’m so thankful for how he makes us feel a part of everything he’s doing!

Here’s a quick glimpse at his Junior year - shooting with an old view finder camera, more time in the dark room, a cool photography book making class, and lots of time with his sweet fur babies! Auburn posted graduation pictures yesterday. The 3 of @thepacman19 made me smile so big when I saw them, but as I looked at them this afternoon, I got a little weepy comparing them to little 5 year old Pax taking his first picture with Aubie & a picture from his very first Auburn football game. We could’ve never imagined, back then, all that he would get to do & experience these past 4 years.

From the stands as a lifelong fan to the field, locker room, & sidelines; traveling & experiencing games in so many different stadiums, from AT&T stadium to LSU to The Swamp & many more in between; meeting Auburn greats like Cam & Bo, along with AU Alum, Tim Cook; going to dinner at the legendary Pat Dye’s home; closets & closets full of Auburn gear, clothes, shoes, hats, bags, suitcases, & more; and just making memories & having the time of his life!! It has been soooo much fun watching him throughout this journey & getting to experience a lot of it with him. It truly has been 4 unforgettable years!!

And I’m forever proud of the man he has become. He seemed to completely grow up overnight. From the moment he moved out, he never let us do anything for him - laundry, pay his rent, buy groceries, or anything!! He was determined to do it all himself, & he did! But more than that I’m so proud of how true to himself he stayed through these 4 years. He has a powerful testimony that I hope will encourage other students and let them know that you absolutely can go away to school, even a very large school, & not drink or go to parties. And no judgment for those who choose to, this was just a personal conviction of Paxton’s. You can stay true to yourself - whatever your convictions are. Just stand firm.

Next up for Pax is grad school for a Masters in Sports Management. He’s narrowed it down to University of Florida, University of Kansas, or Arkansas State, but this Momma is super happy that he wants to and is able to go online from home!! Yay for technology (and a significant positive from this whole Covid stuff)!! 🙌🏼

What a powerful, impactful, informative few days at our National Office in Springfield, MO for our annual District Fine Arts Coordinator Retreat. Thank you @amyraewhitney and @holly.davis.214 for pouring so much of your hearts, wisdom, knowledge, and vision for fine arts into all of us!! And it’s always great getting to put all of our DFAC heads together to hear other creative ideas of what is working well in other districts.

Can’t wait for our next Team Georgia meeting where I’ll be able to share so much of what I learned this week with our team to help us better pour into the students, youth pastors, & leaders of Georgia!!

Pre-wedding… some of the most special moments, details, and people. Paxton’s boutonnière pin of him walking Grandmomma down the aisle at Snell’s wedding and his pocket square that I sewed from my wedding dress. Hannah’s bouquet pin of her and her Pop Pop on a bouquet wrap that I made from the train of my wedding dress. I cannot think of a more special way to celebrate our 31st Anniversary than having @micahbush22 home for the week and all of us working together on the final touches for @thepacman19 & @hannahholland713’s wedding this Friday - which also happens to be on the 32nd anniversary of the day me & Philip met! What a special day, special week, and special life the Lord has blessed us with! It’s not always sunshine and rainbows, but it’s the easiest “yes” I’ve ever said and I’d do it all over again and again and again!! I love you, @philipmbush!! 😘🤍 by @michellecbush

Finding Rainbows in the rain.

A couple of weeks ago I had 9 appointments at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville over a 5 day span. The appointments weren’t fun and were pretty exhausting, though we did learn a lot - particularly at their Ehlers Danlos clinic - and feel like we are on the right path towards helping me more. But when we weren’t on Mayo’s campus, we pretended we were just on vacation and had a great time exploring historic St. Augustine, taking short but beautiful walks on Jacksonville’s Riverwalk & one of St. Augustine’s beaches, visiting a wildlife sanctuary that rescues animals from zoos, and just spending time resting, reading, talking, and laughing together! 🤍
