POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Will we as working class people give big tech billionaries our water, our land, our power, and our future so that they can build AI to replace human labor?

This may be the single most powerful unifying issue of our time for working class people to organize around. Bridge the divide and resist the conquest. We need an economy that’s built on restoration, not extraction and exploitation.

✋🏼 MICHIGANDERS!!! ✋🏼

Big Tech is attempting to steal the resources of OUR PLEASANT PENINSULA! There are currently AI data centers proposed in Saline & Lowell that need URGENT OPPOSITION.

It’s not a good deal for water, wildlife or the people of our great state. If you agree, the time is NOW to make your voice heard. These projects are already underway, but there’s time to stop them. Sign the petition! Show up to the public hearings & protests! Call your reps!!!!

There’s big promises of prosperity, but with so much abundance in Michigan, there’s simply too much at stake. We know that the riches that Michigan is already blessed with are far more valuable than what Big Tech is promising us.

We want surface water, not surveillance! 🪨
We want groundwater, not greed! 🌳
We want our peninsula eternally PLEASANT! 🕊️

Join us and the good folks in Michigan who are standing up against the AI Data Center expansion in Michigan. ✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼

💧 This #ImagineADayWithoutWater, we’re highlighting how PolicyLink, which anchors the #WECRCaucus, is advancing #WaterAffordabilityForAll.

Speaking about @reprashida and @repdingell ‘s push for permanent federal water assistance, @policylink ‘s Yasmin Zaerpoor emphasized the national need: an estimated 30 to 48 million people live in households facing unaffordable water bills.

The Caucus helped inform the Water Access and Affordability Act, which would establish permanent assistance for low-income households’ water and wastewater bills and protect participating families from shutoffs.

Keeping water safe requires investment, but families already facing unaffordable bills cannot shoulder the cost. Federal assistance and investment in public water systems can help keep water within reach.

Learn more about the Caucus’ vision for water affordability at climatewaterequity.org.

Title Track has a strong belief in the power of community and its collective wisdom.  We have seats at the table for those with a desire to influence and impact our organization’s culture as board members; helping us achieve our financial goals, and supporting the Title Track staff as we continue to develop and produce programming that stays in-step with our missional pillars.  Are you someone that has time, energy, and resources to give back to your community? Can you be a part of the network that nurtures the health and vitality of community organizations who engage the arts for the sake of the common good? Do you enjoy collaboration, envisioning longterm goals, and doing the essential work behind the scenes to make the magic happen?

If you answered “YES” to all of these questions there’s a good chance that you would make an exceptional board member for Title Track! If you are interested in learning more and applying for a (2) year term please reach out to us, and/or fill out the board member interest form. Thank you!

“It is with gratitude and excitement that I share the news that I have shifted my role at Title Track from Co-executive Director to Creative Director!

When we started this organization, part of the design plan from the beginning was for me to begin as Director and then over time to build shared power, serving with other co-Directors, and then eventually to shift to a staff role, then a board member and eventually becoming a volunteer. Founder syndrome is real and Title Track will not suffer from it on my account.

Having shared Directorship with Holly T. Bird and Jenny Jones for a couple of years, I am hopeful that this boat will not only stay afloat, but will be reaching new levels of impact and excellence with Jenny Jones at the helm as our Executive Director. In my new role, I can play to my strengths and weave with my vocation as an artist moving forward. This was always part of the plan, and now it has become a reality!

As Creative Director, I intend to continue to contribute deeply to Title Track’s mission and to advance our shared goals. I intend to continue to help run programs and raise money to advance this work, and I intend to foster generative artistic partnerships to expand our collective reach and impact.

I will also be working on new projects and programs at @Earthwork_Farm where I was born and raised and where we hosted Earthwork Harvest Gathering! Look out for some exciting collaborations with Title Track as our partnership with Earthwork Farm extends into the future. As I continue to steward the land that raised me, and work hard to take the farm into it’s next phase as a community center, I am grateful to remain deeply connected to Title Track and to have opportunities for these projects to overlap and amplify one another in mutually beneficial ways…”

Amber Fellows’ proposed moratorium was the first year long data center moratorium to pass in the entire state, successfully encouraging Ypsi’s water authority, YCUA to do the same. As an Ypsilanti City Council member, she also introduced Mayors for Peace, a resolution made by a coalition of mayors standing against the proliferation of nuclear weapons. @amber4thepeople is running for mayor of Ypsilanti and she sat down to speak with me on the new episode of State of Water, the official podcast of @micleanh2o , in the leadup to the primary this Tuesday! by @micleanh2o

Title Track is honored to be a co-sponsoring organization for the Michigan People’s Hearing in Detroit on June 27th.

This one-day public gathering will bring elected representatives together to LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE as we lift up community-based solutions to end threats to our health, land and work.

The People’s Hearing Tour is a national call to courage, care, and collective action. Across the country, frontline activists and community members are testifying to the real impacts of pollution, displacement, and economic inequity while lifting up community-driven solutions. Representatives from over 31 states have attended the three previous People’s Hearings in Greensboro, NC; Tuscon, AZ; and Pittsburgh PA. And now it comes to Michigan!

The Michigan People’s Hearing invites communities from across Michigan and surrounding regions to come forward to keep our environmental justice aspirations alive, setting in motion what comes next to find a way out of the chaos, harm, and silence so many are suffering.
