New episodes of State of Water podcast streaming now! A program of @titletrackmichigan

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🗣️💜🗳️ Here’s 1 quick action you can do today to support Title Track!

Our friends at Oryana Community Co-op do so much for the Traverse City area, including supporting many nonprofits such as Title Track.

We are excited to be on the ballot for @oryanatc ‘s 2027 Groceries for Good program! Vote by October 31 to help us earn one of 12 spots in next year’s Groceries for Good program that would provide important financial support for our efforts in support of clean water, racial equity, and youth empowerment. Voting only takes a minute! Thank you!!

Through the Groceries for Good program, Oryana shoppers can round up their change to the nearest dollar to support the non-profit of the month. Additionally, Oryana chooses one day per month to donate 2% of all sales at both stores to the non-profit.

Happy start of Early Voting day! I am coming on here to remind everyone to make their voting plan if you haven’t already 🫶🏼, and also to announce that a few weeks ago, @koramelia and I got back in the studio with @chrisdupontmusic and recorded a little bonus track that I will be releasing on Nov. 6 (the next Bandcamp Friday)!! 100% of the proceeds will be going to @micleanh2o in support of their fight against data centers in Michigan. The song is called “Lament of a Songbird” and centers around my fears about AI. 🕊️ So excited to share this one with you all.

💧 A water shutoff takes away a family’s ability to cook dinner, bathe their children, and care for themselves at home. No one should lose those necessities because they cannot afford the bill.

Everyone has a right to #SafeAffordableWater, at any income. Protecting that right takes sustained federal investment in public water systems, rates that account for household income, and permanent federal water assistance.

Keeping water safe and affordable is a public responsibility. Our policies should ensure no family has to choose between water and other essentials.

This #ImagineADayWithoutWater, learn more about the #WECRCaucus’ vision for water affordability at climatewaterequity.org.

Flint, Flushing, Montrose and Saginaw County we need your attention.

People Powered Flint is fighting to move the proposed Recycling and Education Center away from 609 Chavez Drive, beside the Flint River.

This proposed $12.7 million facility would collect and store household chemicals, electronics and batteries, along with ordinary recyclables.

Our concern is where it’s going, how much could accumulate, and whether the safeguards and staffing would protect our communities.

The Flint River continues downstream through Flushing and Montrose into Saginaw County, connecting to the Shiawassee River, Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay.

A release could move beyond Flint. How far, and with what consequences, would depend on what was released and the conditions.

We need clear plans for spills, battery fires and contaminated firefighting water.

The updated FAQ describes three to six full-time employees, with additional help during busy periods. How would that cover waste handling, visitors, education and emergencies?

The County says no separate analysis established maximum collection and storage quantities, and no project-specific health equity review was completed.

Meanwhile, our connection to the planning website receives an “Access denied” message saying the network has been banned. Some Board document links returned “410 Gone.” We don’t know why.

We’ve recovered the updated FAQ, but we still need the complete records.

Help us get readable copies. Contact your commissioners. Ask them to reconsider this location through an open comparison of alternatives.

Sign and share our petition. And share this with someone downstream.

Flint’s future deserves more than unanswered questions.

Title Track has a strong belief in the power of community and its collective wisdom. We have seats at the table for those with a desire to influence and impact our organization’s culture as board members; helping us achieve our financial goals, and supporting the Title Track staff as we continue to develop and produce programming that stays in-step with our missional pillars. Are you someone that has time, energy, and resources to give back to your community? Can you be a part of the network that nurtures the health and vitality of community organizations who engage the arts for the sake of the common good? Do you enjoy collaboration, envisioning longterm goals, and doing the essential work behind the scenes to make the magic happen?

If you answered “YES” to all of these questions there’s a good chance that you would make an exceptional board member for Title Track! If you are interested in learning more and applying for a (2) year term please reach out to us, and/or fill out the board member interest form. Thank you!

The County connected the project to creating a “healthy, safe and livable” community while saying plans and timelines were still being developed.

It did not mention household hazardous waste, lithium-ion batteries, flammables or temporary hazardous-material storage.

Does Flint deserve another contamination crisis?
Tell your Commissioners to re evaluate and stop the build at 609 Chavez Drive in Flint. Construction has begun.

“It is with gratitude and excitement that I share the news that I have shifted my role at Title Track from Co-executive Director to Creative Director!

When we started this organization, part of the design plan from the beginning was for me to begin as Director and then over time to build shared power, serving with other co-Directors, and then eventually to shift to a staff role, then a board member and eventually becoming a volunteer. Founder syndrome is real and Title Track will not suffer from it on my account.

Having shared Directorship with Holly T. Bird and Jenny Jones for a couple of years, I am hopeful that this boat will not only stay afloat, but will be reaching new levels of impact and excellence with Jenny Jones at the helm as our Executive Director. In my new role, I can play to my strengths and weave with my vocation as an artist moving forward. This was always part of the plan, and now it has become a reality!

As Creative Director, I intend to continue to contribute deeply to Title Track’s mission and to advance our shared goals. I intend to continue to help run programs and raise money to advance this work, and I intend to foster generative artistic partnerships to expand our collective reach and impact.

I will also be working on new projects and programs at @Earthwork_Farm where I was born and raised and where we hosted Earthwork Harvest Gathering! Look out for some exciting collaborations with Title Track as our partnership with Earthwork Farm extends into the future. As I continue to steward the land that raised me, and work hard to take the farm into it’s next phase as a community center, I am grateful to remain deeply connected to Title Track and to have opportunities for these projects to overlap and amplify one another in mutually beneficial ways…”

“The consensus is real. We know that we need to reject the tech oligarchy’s dystopian future for us.”

State of Water is opening up a new chapter of candidate interviews starting off with a powerful conversation with Amber Fellows, City Council member, and candidate for mayor of Ypsilanti!

Amber Fellows’ proposed moratorium was the first year long data center moratorium to pass in the entire state, successfully encouraging Ypsi’s water authority, YCUA to do the same. As an Ypsilanti City Council member, she also introduced Mayors for Peace, a resolution made by a coalition of mayors standing against the proliferation of nuclear weapons. @amber4thepeople is running for mayor of Ypsilanti and she sat down to speak with me on the new episode of State of Water, the official podcast of @micleanh2o , in the leadup to the primary this Tuesday!
