Barbie collector of all eras since age 3 with a special love for her Bestie Midge! I love early Vintage Barbie history, especially Licensed Products.

We are going back to the 80s (If only…) at work today so I dug out one of my favorite George Michael shirts from when I was in Jr. High. I loved this one because it was so colorful! Looking forward to seeing The Faith Tour on the big screen with @nancy_dewaard_gmfan in December! It’s gonna be rad! #georgemichael #georgemichaelfans #thefaithtour #1980s #backtothe80s by @midgefan73

October 3rd may be Mean Girls Day for some people, but for me it will always be George Michael Day! October 3rd, 1988 was the first time I ever saw George Michael in concert during The Faith Tour. My friend Angela and I got in line after school in May 1988 and had to wait five months for the concert. I made one of those construction paper chains to count down the days. (I still have those links in a shoe box) I have never been so excited for any day in my life. I remember being at The Forum in Los Angeles and thinking I’m breathing the same air as George! My Mom went with Angela and I while my Dad waited in the van in the parking lot. I got a tour program and t shirt and was so happy! Those memories are etched in my very being! I didn’t know then that I would in later years have many more memorable experiences with George and @nancy_dewaard_gmfan in the years to come. This December you can see @thefaithtour on the big screen as they release the Paris show finally! What had been a rumor about that show being recorded has come true! #georgemichael #thefaithtour #georgemichaelfan #lovelies #barbie by @midgefan73

I got to spend Labor Day with the legendary diva herself @carolsdazzlenvintage while she recorded her episode of Barbie Talk hosted by @kelly_in_pink on YouTube. What a fun day listening to Carol share stories and treasured memories of her incredible career, while we viewed her collection of dolls she created, and had a yummy lunch Carol made for myself and her sister Margaret. It was a special and fun filled day and fortunately I didn’t lock Carol out of her house this time! Tune in to Kelly’s fascinating interview this coming Monday, September 14th on Kelly’s Barbie Talk channel on YouTube! #barbietalk #kellyinpink #carolspencer #barbiegram #dollstagram by @midgefan73

Did you ever have the Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine? “You put ice cubes in and get a Sno-Cone out! It’s fun! Yum! Yum! Fun is what it’s all about!” Yes that commercial is seared into my memory from childhood! One of my favorite toys from childhood! So much so that many years later when they brought it back to market, my Mom got me it again as an adult for Christmas one year! This is from @superimpulse World’s Smallest collection! #snoopysnoconemachine #worldssmallesttoys #superimpulse #barbie #barbiegram by @midgefan73

Happy Twinning Tuesday!
Do you have “Barbie” friends?

In the beginning, mine lived only on my phone — collectors I knew by username, not by voice. Then in 2018, I met Laura @midgefan73 at a Barbie event. She was my first real-life doll friend. She invited me to a Barbie club meeting, and we’ve been connected ever since.

Friend, don’t underestimate what one hello at a doll show can turn into. Go to the event. Say hi to the person admiring the same doll you are. Branch out.

The dolls are what bring us together — the people are what keep us coming back.

Enjoyed the Outsiders, Outcasts, Rebels + Weirdos: Punk Culture 1976-1986 exhibit with @mtoubassi at @skirball_la Lots of great posters and fliers from back in the day, a fun collection of buttons, zines, and some of @viviennewestwood fashions from her Chelsea shop with Malcolm McLaren. The exhibit covers the East Coast Punk scene in DC and NY, West Coast So Cal, as well as as England and a few places in between. #skirballcenter #punk #blackflag #minorthreat by @midgefan73

I just finished working on my PowerPoint presentation on Ken’s Origins Story for Kenvention in October. I pulled out all of my vintage Kens. I was so shocked at all the box variations in the early days. I will be discussing this during my program. These are my Dressed Box Kens that were sent to toy stores in the 1960s in their fashions for display. I love seeing them all together for a photograph. #kendoll #dressedboxken #vintageken #kencollector #kencollection by @midgefan73
