It has been a minute, and I look nothing like my old picture, so it's time for an update! 😝

After 12+ year break from reading 😱, I started again in 2019 (thanks to @the_chronicallyillreader ). I jumped on booksta in October 2023 because I needed some fantasy-loving friends to yap with, and I found the best ones around!

I love the space we share here and am always ready to endlessly chat about pretty much anything. 💃🏼 Dystopian settings are my absolute favorite, but I love most fantasy, sci-fi, and romance genres. Political intrigue, oppressive government, star-crossed lovers - say no more!

I grew up as a die-hard Star Wars and Indiana Jones fan, so these shaped my love for the adventurous, all-consuming, emotional tales I seek out now. I want to feel the magic and cry all the tears.

I do enjoy a contemporary, historical, or regency romance every now and then, too. And of course, the BBC Pride & Prejudice is the ruinous cause of my enemies-to-lovers obsession.

I missed this trend since I wasnt on bookstagram yet, so I'm going back to it for today since it's our 15th anniversary. 🥰🤗

We met in college and he was actually the T.A. for my computer class. 😝 I immediately was fascinated with him, but being a 17 year old freshman I thought I had no chance! So we became just friends. A year later, we went out to see a movie in a group and his best friend clued him in on my very obvious interest! #obliviousboy 🤣 Engaged 3 months later. We have the best adventures and he still makes me laugh just like this. #thankful by @midnight.mom.reader

Still Beating
Jennifer Hartman

This book is very dark and heavy due to the content, but I thought it was so well done. I can't recommend it to most people I know, but it is a very interesting perspective of trauma, healing, and how people cope with tragedy. I really loved it!

I will definitely try other books from this author.

WHAT THE WHAT??!! 🤯😱 NO WAY!

When I say that I can't get enough of this series, that is an understatement. I love it - and the twists and THAT ENDING - how in the world did people read these and wait so long for the next book?! So glad I am extremely behind the times. 🤣

I love these characters, so much. Truly a fantastic cast and a great world. I missed out on the angsty teen books of the 2010s decade so here I am enjoying every second of the drama and emotional roller coasters. 💁🏼‍♀️

On to the next book. 🫡

What a stellar month!

Matthews, Novik, and Grey were all new to me authors and I am excited to read more of them. 👌🏻

Infernal Devices, Forsaken Prophecy, and Bodyguard will definitely be in the top reads of the year.

SWOOOOOOOOON.

Cindy, as usual, is absolutely magical.

She can make me believe anything. Her writing is never cheesy and I absolutely adored this MMC. I also love when an author can show us a powerful woman who still wants her hero. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

THE FREAKING TENSION. I thought I was going to die. 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Clockwork Princess

There is now only before this book, and after this book. I can't ever go back to before. 😭

It was so awful and so beautiful. It's that feeling of "I hope I never feel this way again, but also I will die if I never feel this way about a book again." 😝

I felt so deeply connected to all of these characters, even the side ones. THESE ARE REAL PEOPLE AND YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND.

Absolutely a must read for fantasy lovers and for those who love to suffer immensely by self-inflicted word violence.
