Just a Woodbrook gyal in her handmade fit, with a bag full of pone and aloo pie🌴
My self drafted skirt in organic cotton and the #saltwaterslip top in linen. I love pulling on this outfit to knock about town, the skirt has a comfy elastic waistband and deep pockets, and the top is totally lined and reversible.
Unfortunately my sewing machine has gone to be repaired (AGAIN) after a botched servicing job 🫠. Fingers crossed this new repair shop can help and I can get back to sewing! 🪡

Finally took some photos of my #hallondress 🌴🌴
This was basically a wearable toile but the fit ended up being perfect, no adjustments needed 🙏🏽 I was really sleeping on this pattern but I already have another one cut out and ready to go!
Everything is french seamed, which is great because I don't have a serger and rayon challis frays like hell. Next time I'd probably raise the side slits (as I am indeed a harlot) and make the hem seam allowance a bit wider for a slightly thicker hem. I also sewed 80% of this dress in one day on @st3phcm 's machine while mine was in the shop. 👯‍♀️ by @midsummerstitch

I made this dress about 3 years ago after doing the character designs for Abuelita's Song and realising I had to create it. Sewing is really its own kind of magic. ✨

It's a bit too big for me now but I still wear it at least once a week as it's very adjustable and so comfy! Swipe to see the original character sketch!

Bodice is the #bhlhannah and I swapped the gathered skirt for a 1/2 circle wrap skirt (which I suppose makes it a 3/4 circle at this point). I did a small bust adjustment which is my usual alteration but if I were to remake it, I think I'd have to go down a size. The neckline is a lovely scooped V, but it did take a lot of altering the original pattern for me to not have any gaping. Fabric is a linen viscose! by @midsummerstitch

This is the #dreamfrock by @lydianaomistudio . I made this dress about 4 years ago but rarely wear it! 🪡

My vision was a light blue gingham milkmaid dress and unfortunately the only fabric I could find it in was this crinkle rayon. BAD IDEA!! You cannot imagine the horror. I think honestly I'm still traumatized and this is why I don't reach for it often! It was a slip and slide nightmare to sew. 🫠

My mods: lowered the neckline, omitted the sleeve ruffle, added a panel of shirring to the back and did a gathered skirt. I also fully lined the top as the fabric was so see through. In the end it's pretty nice, but I definitely learned my lesson with it! by @midsummerstitch

I raised the slits to be much higher, lengthened it to maxi just took in the bust a bit. No other mods! Linen is from @selfmade_com 🪡

Gathered gingham skirt for #memademay day 7 because I love anything yarn dyed and live in swishy skirts🌞
Three gathered rectangles, each 2x the one before with elastic, plus pockets of course! Final slide is @kamauj868 acting like I am heading off to the war when we split up for errands 🫡

#memademay day 3! We got exactly 3 days of summer weather this week and it was glorious 🌞
This is my Anabelle dress by @patternsbypatterncos which is one of my favorite dress patterns. I have a process video in an earlier post from sometime ago, and this is one I wear on heavy rotation in the summer.
I changed the skirt to a gathered one with 2 tiers, and made tie straps! Not pictured is the overflowing shopping cart with bbq items, because we never waste a sunny day.

For #memademay day 2, my self drafted cotton skirt and the @patternsbypatterncos Paulette blouse (which is a free pattern!!✨) I omitted the ruffle and lengthened it to have a deep hem (also in cotton). Both of these were wearable toiles. The scarf is the @castawayyarnshop simple triangle scarf.
I wear these on repeat so if you see me in them multiple times, look away, that's my business 😌

Happy #memademay!!!!

I have absolutely loved Spring in Rotterdam 💗
This is the @castawayyarnshop easiest triangle scarf in garter stitch. It was a really relaxing project, and I used 100g (2 skeins) of DK merino wool on 4mm needles. No counting! No tracking! Just mindless increases and knitting! It was perfect.

A self drafted skirt in white cotton. I've been seeing the pintuck petticoat vibe and loving it, so of course I had to make one. A lot of math was involved to get the tucks properly arranged but it all came together 🎉

The blouse is cotton voile from Madewell, I got it years ago for $0.07 (!!!!) and the boots are thrifted.

Oh, and I promptly sat on something pink whilst on the skirt's maiden voyage 🫩 luckily, the stain came out 😤
