It’s in the name, just a dude painting for the love of the game.

“To build a mountain takes a long, long time”

My first minis I ever painted, admittedly not the best but they got me hooked! They were supposed to be Mortifactors but also look a bit like World Eaters haha.

They are cruddy but I love them, because I made them. Of course I got a far bit of goobers clowning on my efforts, but more importantly I got a lot of encouragement, tips, and advice on how to improve my painting. Big thanks to @wolfliche who’s been a huge mentor in this journey (as well as @nicklaidthelaw and so many others who talked nerd with me). That led to a lot of practice and trial and error before I found what works for me!

I have no qualms about being famous or another influencer, I simply love doing this and it’s cathartic for me. Also helps I’m a huge nerd. I’m just some working dude who likes to blow off a little steam painting little army dudes.

Someone gave me some great advice when I started: take the first minis you ever painted, never change it, put it in a box, and use it as a reminder for where you started. And I did just that.

Another 8hr layover, another marker project done. This one will get some shading and small details will get done at the house. Standby. #battletech #mechWarrior by @midtierpainting

On the move a lot lately so that means paint marker projects, Battletech Atlas Mech completed in the Lufthansa lounge between flights with some @akinteractive.official Real Paint markers. Gonna take this home for some touchups, camo shade glaze, and shading to complete. #battletech #mechwarrior #atlasmech #wargaming #painting by @midtierpainting

Ancient from the Armageddon box. I'm a real slut for literally anything involving a war banner or relic carried on a stick. Can't get enough. Attempted something new and cheeky with my base. Built it up just a little with a technical, hit it with a bit of black contrast, and then did the lava flow with a bright white, yellow on the edges, and then the liberal application of an orange glaze.

A little proof of concept inspired by @cov_werks and a take on rubs camo. If you didn’t know the Ultramarines in the second edition were depicted in a camo scheme. I liked how this turned out and it gives me some ideas to cook with.
