Who decides what AI says about Israel?

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO Jonathan Greenblatt has openly discussed his organization’s collaboration with some of the world’s most powerful artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, and X, to identify and combat what the organization classifies as “antisemitism”.

Speaking in Israel, Greenblatt described how the ADL has tested AI models and worked with Silicon Valley companies to develop strategies addressing prolific antisemitism at the technological level, even referencing changes reaching into the source code.

But the obvious implications of one powerful lobby group controlling what classifies as antisemitic, censorship, and political influence, are huge concerns. The question and battle of who ultimately determines what information artificial intelligence is permitted to produce is one at the forefront. by @migrationfilms

Playing from the decadent Las Vegas Sphere, Metallica’s James Hetfield said that Metallica “not here to influence you with bull****”

These are interesting words coming from Hetfield, considering he is a supporter of the war on Ukraine and has expressed enthusiasm in Metallica’s music being used to torture Iraqis under U.S. Occupation.

Maybe it’s because the years have turned Metallica and James into jaded, money hungry musicians, so they may not be able to remember, but the very roots of rock and metal are political - and those roots remain strong in the generations that followed the old.

Musicians like Ozzy Osbourne and James Hetfield, who once wrote anthems critical of the abuse of power may have sold out that message, but the generations that followed haven’t forgotten what it means to make powerful art that challenges the status quo. by @migrationfilms

“IT’S ALWAYS KICKING DOWN, DISTRACTING US FROM THE REAL THREATS”

George Monbiot makes one simple argument: the ultra-rich are the biggest driver of the problems most of us are living with. The inequality. The austerity. The social breakdown that’s hitting so many parts of the world.

His point is that they pay to keep you from noticing.

They fund a politics that blames the people at the bottom: asylum seekers, Muslims, trans people, women, disabled people, public service workers. It’s the person in the small boat, not the person on the mega yacht. The one claiming benefits, not the one dodging taxes.

That’s what “kicking down” means. Every scapegoat is a distraction. And while we argue over who to blame, the people with the most money face the fewest questions.

Monbiot ends with a joke that makes the point. Of course it was us in this room who caused the cost-of-living crisis, sold off the council houses and cut the NHS to the bone. Who else could it possibly be?

Next time you’re told to be angry at someone with less than you, ask who benefits.

A 2019 video of Olga Miranda, president of SEIU Local 87, at an AIPAC policy conference has resurfaced online. Miranda remains president of the Service Employees International Union, which represents 4,000 property service workers and janitors in San Francisco.

The video is making the rounds online due to the shock that a Latino leader in California would so enthusiastically support Israel, from a working-class, leftist background. Miranda continues to receive commendations for her work in San Francisco.

Before the video, Miranda went to Isr*el and, along with four others, reportedly returned with a clearer understanding of why supporting the state was so important. In her speech, Miranda went as far as to mention Isr*eli children dealing with “rocket attacks and constant threats”. Other attendees spoke on the “ties that bind” Latino women and the J*wish community, while Miranda emphasised her commitment to fighting against attack on their support of Isr*el from other unions and the Latino community.

While there is no confirmation that Olga Miranda has been paid directly by AIPAC, labour dissidents who protested her for various reasons, including her support for automation and self-driving taxis, also stated she obstructed efforts in support of the P*lestinian community. by @migrationfilms

An analysis by the Middle East Eye (MEE) has revealed that, during the first half of 2026, the UK’s largest Islamic investment fund purchased more than $100m worth of shares in corporations tied to the Isr*eli military and its g*nocide in G*za.

HSBC’s Islamic Global Equity Index Fund is branded as a “shariah-compliant” investment vehicle - meaning that it is designed to follow Muslim religious guidelines rules that typically screen out businesses deemed unethical according to Islam.

The fund, which is a core part of British pension plans tailored to comply with Islamic ethical rules, allocated tens of millions of dollars into major arms manufacturers and tech providers.

Analysis of the fund’s semi-annual report shows $35.7m invested in defense contractor RTX, whose subsidiary Raytheon manufactures weapons used in G*za.

The Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) said Raytheon is “implicated in Isr*el’s war on G*za”.

Further allocations include $20.3m in Analog Devices, which supplies critical components to Elbit Systems - Isr*el’s largest weapons manufacturer during its g*nocide in G*za.

In addition, $18.9m has gone towards Honeywell International, whose guidance systems have been recovered in missile strike that attacked a school in G*za which k*lled at least 40 P*lestinians, including 14 children and nine women.

The fund also invested $17.6m in Rolls-Royce, which supplies engines for Isr*el’s Merkava tanks and armoured troop carriers.

This follows earlier reporting by Hyphen disclosing that the HSBC fund had separately acquired $38.3m in shares of US data firm Palantir, which partnered with the Israeli military to “use drone-fired missiles to target civilians in G*za, including journalists and aid workers.”

In comments to the MEE, Ibrahim Khan, co-founder of Islamic Finance Guru, described the investments as a clear “misstep,” urging British Muslim investors to hold the banking giant accountable while pressing for revised screening frameworks. by @migrationfilms
