Testing out speckled clay and matte black glaze. I thought it would come out a lot darker… but I think the earthy tones complement the natural clay. What do you think?

I haven’t hand-built with clay since I was a kid!

Earlier this year, I brought home some leftover speckled clay and experimented with a mold carved by Anna @greatfountain during her school days at OCAD.

I rolled out the clay, pressed it onto the mold lined with Saran Wrap, then draped it over a small glass bowl to dry.

I’ll need to try a different glaze next time… the matcha glaze turned out much lighter than I’d hoped.

A little imperfect. A little unexpected.

I guess growth comes hand in hand 🥬🌱❤️

Not perfect. A little uneven in places. Made slowly.

Just like most meaningful things.

Watching @mylo.explores use something I created from a lump of clay feels unexpectedly special 🥰🐾

The lines don’t lie.

Each ring holds a moment.

A study hand, a breath, and maybe a bit more control than yesterday.

There’s something grounding about repetition… Doing the same thing, again and again… Until your hands begin to understand before your mind does.

Not perfection, but more consistent.

What’s something in your life that’s been becoming more study with practice?
