I’d like to introduced to you guys the worlds most evilest BMX frame ever built…. straight from hell, lairdframe #666. Now who’s the lucky bastard getting this frame!? That would be none other than Nate Wessel!
•
Coming from a total package perspective, the build, cerakote paint job and the promotion art this is the best frame I’ve ever built. 4 artists got their hands on this lairdframe to make it what you’re seeing today. Wessel carved and etched the SS bridge/BT gusset, yours truly fabricated the frame, @americancustominnovations for the @cerakote custom paint job and @willstricklinphotography for photo illustration work of the promotional media. This lairdframe has been over 3 months in the making and has countless hours of true creative craftsman creating this beast. I am so incredibly proud of all the people that are involved in this project.

Story time, how did @wesselbuilt come about reserving #666? I’m gonna keep this short and sweet. I built Wessel his first lairdframe back in December 2015. #171, it was a tri-color powdercoated red, white and blue theme. Wessel puts his lairdframe together in Jan. ‘16 and calls me right away. “Yo Laird” he said, “my BB height isn’t right”. Of anyone I could’ve fucked up givin’ the wrong geometry to it had to be the legendary Nate Wessel… I offered instantly to replace his frame with the proper geometry frame he was looking for. He declined that offer and instead asked if he could reserve #666 for compensation for my mistake. I couldn’t tell the legend no. I did tell him I do not build frames out of sequential order that he’s going to have to wait years and years. And so now here we are 7 years later and I’m finally making good on a promise.

Side note, Wessel designed the first CS bottle opener bridge and lend me the design to use on any of my customers lairdframes who wanted one. He hasn’t asked me for one red cent sense putting them on my frames.

Back in 2008 we obtained this Race Car and Mike Laird Made our vision a reality and the “Race Car Ramp “ was born . In 2023 William C Genett helped us make the landing ramp wider and adding a dense resi ….

The car has been the same paint scheme now for 18years ( hard to believe it’s been around that long )

We are considering giving it a make over with a new paint scheme (wrap)

So I make titanium lairdframes. I want to be the first to say that titanium is not going to be replacing chromoly anytime soon in the sport of BMX freestyle. But titanium is a viable replacement for somebody looking for a lighter rig. My Ti-lairdframes feature a thicker gauged tubing then titanium frames of the past or present. The TT gauge is .045”, the BT is .049”, the SS is .052” and the CS are .065”. What all this translates to is a slightly heavier titanium frame but definitely more durable. All Ti-lairdframes are made with Grade-9 American-made tubing. The average weight of a 20” Ti-lairdframe is 3lb. 1ozs. and costs $1965. All frame orders go through my user-friendly website.
