‘Father Like Daughter’ 50x65 cm red chalk on tinted paper. Final Dubai studio artwork of Spring 2026. Heading back stateside to my Huntingdon Valley studio early next week for the summer season. My favorite piece of artwork in my studio (west view) is not any of my paintings/drawings, it is not the Mawaheb From Beautiful People ice cream sculpture on the pedestal (close), but IT IS my sofa painted by my grandchildren’s hands during our many studio art sessions. Come visit us at no. 10 Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, sit on the sofa and take home a bit of freshly applied paint.

It’s great to be back in my Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood studio, where I work with my Collective ‘X’ artists colleagues in house No. 10.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood is a perfect place to visit and immerse yourself in its magic, beauty, and mystery. It’s one of the oldest villages in the UAE.

On the easel, I’m continuing to explore the enchanting world of red chalk. I’ve created ‘Forever’ 40x55cm: red chalk on gray gessoed paper.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Fouad and Ingrid for posing during our 5-hour sketch session. Rest that back!!

Born last fall on the trails of the Pennypack Ecological Restoration Trust in Huntingdon Valley, PA and finished last week, ‘Together’ (partially shown: 90x120 cm), captures the light and unbreakable bond of sisters and their puppy Maisey as they explore the magical trails in our backyard. Here’s to brighter, calmer days ahead - both at home and abroad. I’m looking forward to returning to my Dubai studio very soon.

Excited to be back in my Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood studio with my Collective ‘X’ artist colleagues in house No. 10!

On my first studio day back, I’m creating ‘Fire Horse’ in red chalk with Isabella from Beijing for the Chinese New Year.

I completed ‘We Inherited’, a 3-month painting project, before departing the UAE for my stateside summer studio. This 6’x4’ (180x120cm) oil on canvas artwork (partially shown) depicts the multi-generational story of a prominent UAE family, from their desert roots to their aspirations and achievements amongst the stars. We have survived the construction and upgrades to the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood and Anja, Lia, Natalia, Abdullah and Mike would like to reconnect with everyone before the summer heat sets in.
