On behalf of Romi and I, We are excited to introduce to you Sofia Arizona Basch. Sofia was born at 10:18 AM local time in Cordoba, Argentina. She was 4.295 KG (which is 9 pounds 7 ounces)! Here in Cordoba, someone might refer to her as a gordita! Sofia, which has Greek origins, comes from the word wisdom, and starts with the letter S: in memory of my mother’s father, Samuel, who was a wonderful father, grandfather, and husband. Arizona, in typical Romi/Mike naming fashion is a combination of two words of two different languages: Ari is the Hebrew word for Lion and Zon comes from the Spanish word Corazon, meaning heart. Coming off the DNC last week, I feel a new found optimism about what might be possible for this November’s election. I don’t post often, especially given the heaviness in the world at the moment, even further exacerbated in my world post October 7th. That being said, this November has two very different options to vote for in the election. I know some of my more independent or moderate friends don’t know much about Kamala and many of you have voiced skepticism. I encourage you to get to know her and what she stands for. Watch her speech from the DNC as a starting point. As a country, we must find optimism, joy, hope, possibility for the future. After all, it is what we are leaving our kids too. Much is at stake. Grateful to have been able to witness concerned citizens partaking in activism at its finest while in Israel. Meet Olivia Meikota Basch. Born 7:31 pm on the 29th of June, 2022. at birth, Liv was 7 pounds,13 ounces, and 20.5 inches long. Romi and I tried our best to give deep meaning to her name, for Olivia to be reminded of these qualities every time she hears her name. Olivia comes from the Hebrew word, Liviya for Lioness. Meikota is a combination of two words: Meiko is German and means courage or strength. Otta is Norwegian and means creative/philosopher. Combining on the letter O after my great grandfather, Oswald Basch. Who my middle name is named after and was a very strong influence within my father’s side of the family. It is with tremendous joy we want to introduce the newest member of our family, Leo Levalor Basch to our digital world. He was introduced to the real world on November 28th, 2020. Leo (Spanish for Lion). Levalor, which is combination of Lev (Hebrew for Heart) and Valor (English for Courage). The two words merge to create Levalor. The V where they overlap is in memory of my grandma, Vivian, who survived Auschwitz and embodies perseverance, heart, and courage. We are SO excited to be parents and watch him grow, and hopefully many of you will meet him in real life soon!!!!❤️🎉👨‍👩‍👦🥰 taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma by @mikebasch
