I can't praise this game enough. It is the epitome of a slept on gem. I haven't played such a funny and chill game in a while especially within a big ip. Initially I put it off because 1. I thought it was stupid to have a gotg game where you only play as one character and 2. I forgot it exists. It is nothing like the avengers game and it will make you want to binge everything gotg.

The experience is especially special to me because saw the first two gotg movies in theaters and rewatched the first a ton and as a kid I was exposed to a lot of 70's-90's music, especially at camp, so the music and it being gotg takes me back.

You will mostly be exploring but it is not open world. You'll be looking for loot, logs, and outfits. The character interactions are fantastic and it's one of those games where you go "I gotta stand around to hear all the dialogue of the characters criticizing me for exploring and taking too long". Almost everything you do is acknowledged and made fun of so, like in the recent god of war games, the game feels a lot more lively cause of that.

You don't need to be a gotg fan to enjoy this but it's definitely recommended because it is of course still lore heavy. Also this being a choices matter game is great but, although there are some significant ones, you'll mostly get an experience similar to jedi fallen order. by @mikegmakesstuff

Couple more down from the backlog. The first one is of a lady I saw in a dream, like 99% of my designs, and the second one is not showing the full image but whatever. Also made updates to my site and will be posting articles and guides covering Unreal and other things, when I'll have more time. by @mikegmakesstuff

This is an unnecessary sequel and structural remake of the levels from the first game but there is fun to be had. You can tell they didn't really care or knew how to adapt the crystal skull and essentially copy over but also remake the other 3 films. The levels range from being very short to drawn out with waves of enemies and some puzzles that would no way be solved by 99% of kids.

The best aspects are the slightly new combat that is blended with some physics driven animation that gives the melee combat more satisfying weight, though the whip is pretty bad in combat because indy just spins it above his head like a lasso and it becomes nearly impossible to hit enemies.

And the other positive is the hub worlds. They feel like enlarged versions of isometric lego builds and seamlessly connect areas from each movie in a single environment. It's fun enough to explore and campaign areas change after you finish them.

Overall it's still fun because it is just a remixed version of the first game with an additional movie, though crystal skull has very short levels and big chunks of the movie were left out, granted there wasn't as much action in it as the first 3. Given lego's complete formula change it's nice to go back to their older games to get a fresh but classic experience. I remember being excited for the game but never got it.

It also feels like a nice basis for them to develop a definitive indy game where they can have all 5 movies, some young indy levels (those arent in this game but it's just an idea) and expand on the hub areas to maybe create open worlds within each movie since it would need to be structured differently than the skywalker saga as I doubt they'd make an open world earth but maybe they would. by @mikegmakesstuff

This is how I remember black flag looking but it actually looks better. Not that black flag looks bad but it is an open world so there had to be some sacrifices but it was also a game from 2013 as is ryse and boy does ryse still hold up visually. I was blown away when the game was revealed in 2013. I have a thing for cinematic games and satisfying physics with the close third person angle.

The game is still gorgeous and looks better than some games nowadays (suicide squad and gollum are examples) but you won't much satisfaction in the physics or gameplay/combat variety if you're looking for that. But that does not mean the combat isn't fun. It's authentic in a very hollywoodized (also not exactly a negative since it's a game) take on this time period. And it made me want more from this era.

If you're looking for arkham - specifically origins with a roman coat of paint then you will somewhat find that here. There isn't exploration but it's highly cinematic and the camera zooms out like in arkham during melee combat and there is about 2% of freeflow combat. But in this case that's a good thing because you're not a superhero flying around. You feel the weight of the armor, sword and tension as enemies attack you one by one and simultaneously. The countering, shield stunning and specific set of combos and takedowns, plus upgrades, are all arkham coated. But like I said - more like origins (which also released in 2013) and even Asylum.

Ryse is very underrated and has somewhat of a crysis reputation for very visually impressive especially for the time - granted 2013 was not long ago anyway. If anything I noted appeals to you or you were like me and have wanted to play this since 2013 but constantly forgot about it, give it a shot. It will probably also give you the itch to play more games in this era. by @mikegmakesstuff

Filmmaking is HARD. I'll stick to digital. But I went absolutely insane with the detail so I'm giving myself 1000000 back pats. Maybe I'll be a makeup artist or costume designer. I can already conceptualize and customize, just give me materials and parts and I'll be zooming.

I can now be reached via the official unreal engine site in the partner directory. Epic has a massive and constantly evolving ecosystem. After working with EA, Epic was always my next goal and now I'm approaching my third year of working with them in multiple areas, directly and through clients.
