YOU MAY NOW ENTER THE VALLEY. The official Valley of the Horntak website is live. Or, perhaps we should say…a website has appeared. Explore the history of the Rite of Cycle. Discover what lives in the valley. Learn about the film. Dig a little deeper into the world behind the Horntak. Just understand that Gordon has been made aware of certain unauthorized depictions of the Rite, its members, and its practices contained on this website. He is not pleased. Gordon would like it known that the filmmakers did not receive permission to document these events, that several representations are “incomplete, misleading, and deeply disrespectful to the natural order,” and that further discussion of the matter will be handled internally. We have decided to leave the website up anyway. For now...enter the valley at: horntak.com ENTRY IS VOLUNTARY. DEPARTURE MAY REQUIRE APPROVAL. Lucas Miller brought a remarkable eye to Valley of the Horntak. As a filmmaker myself, I was genuinely impressed by his composition, his instinctive sense of style, and his ability to capture performances from the perfect angle even in a difficult, unforgiving environment. His work elevated the @valleyofthehorntak visual language, and his dedication showed in every frame. Thank you, @lucasdarrinmiller , for the artistry and commitment you brought to this project. 🏆 BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY - NASHVILLE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL! 🎥 A huge congratulations to our incredible Director of Photography, @lucasdarrinmiller for winning Best Cinematography at the Nashville Horror Film Festival this past weekend for Valley of the Horntak! This was our Tennessee Premiere and it did not disappoint! From the beginning, we knew the Kentucky woods needed to be more than just a backdrop, they needed to feel like a character themselves. Beautiful one moment, threatening the next, and increasingly claustrophobic as Julian and Thomas descend deeper into the world of the Horntak. Lucas captured that vision beautifully. Independent filmmaking demands creativity, adaptability, and an incredible amount of trust between departments. Lucas and his camera team helped give Valley of the Horntak its distinctive visual identity, turning the forests of Southern Kentucky into a place filled with atmosphere, dread, mystery, and some truly unforgettable imagery. We couldn’t be happier to see his work recognized. Congratulations, Lucas! This one is well deserved. 🏆🎬 And thank you to the Nashville Horror Film Festival for recognizing the artistry and hard work that went into bringing our strange little corner of Kentucky horror to the screen. #ValleyOfTheHorntak #BestCinematography #LucasMiller #NashvilleHorrorFilmFestival #FolkHorror by @mikehoe11

🎬 ACTOR SPOTLIGHT — MICHAEL PERL as AARON In Valley of the Horntak, Michael Perl brings depth of experience to Aaron, helping ground a story where very human struggles collide with something far more disturbing lurking in the Kentucky wilderness. Michael brings an authenticity and grounded presence to Aaron that fits perfectly within the atmosphere of Valley of the Horntak. In a film filled with unsettling creatures, a mysterious cult, and forces capable of altering both mind and flesh, Michael’s performance helps keep the story rooted in something real. Michael came to Horntak Valley with an extensive career spanning more than three decades across television, film, and the Los Angeles stage. Many audiences will remember him as Winston Egbert on the hit 1990s series Sweet Valley High, a role he played across dozens of episodes. His television credits also include appearances on Scandal, Chuck, Third Watch, Eleventh Hour, The Playboy Club, and The Bold and the Beautiful. His film work includes Stalked by My Doctor: A Sleepwalker’s Nightmare, Lena and Snowball, Aloha with Love, Chaos on the Farm, Trapped in the Cabin, and Craft Me a Romance. A UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television graduate, Michael has also spent years working in Los Angeles theatre and expanded his work behind the camera as a writer and producer. Along with his wife, Melissa Lugo, he founded Burton Street Productions, producing award-winning shorts and web series. We’re proud to have an actor with Michael’s experience and range as part of the Horntak family, and grateful he made the journey into the Valley with us. 🎥 VALLEY OF THE HORNTAK Some places change you. 🎬 ACTOR SPOTLIGHT - WILLIAM MANN as THOMAS At the heart of Valley of the Horntak is a fractured relationship between a father and son and William Mann brings Thomas to life with the anger, vulnerability, and intensity that relationship demands. Thomas enters the woods alongside his estranged father, Julian, searching for a missing boy. But the deeper they travel into Horntak Valley, the more the search becomes something else entirely. Old wounds surface. Trust is tested. And what waits for them in the forest forces Thomas to confront horrors neither of them could have imagined. William delivers a grounded performance that helps anchor the film as the story moves deeper into folk horror and the increasingly disturbing world of the Rite of Cycle. His chemistry with Michael G. Kehoe, who plays Julian, gives the film much of its emotional backbone- the supernatural threat may surround them, but the conflict between father and son is painfully human. We’re proud to have William Mann as part of the cast that brought Valley of the Horntak to life. If you haven't watched Valley of the Horntak...what are you waiting for? Screenings are available this Friday at 7:10pm in Portland, OR during the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and this Saturday in Nashville, TN during the Nashville Horror Film Festival 6pm at Regal Green Hills Cinema. #ValleyOfTheHorntak #WilliamMann #ActorSpotlight #FolkHorror #IndieHorror by @mikehoe11

🎬 ACTOR SPOTLIGHT: MICHAEL G. KEHOE AS JULIAN At the heart of Valley of the Horntak isn’t a creature, a cult, or a mystery. It’s a broken relationship between a father and his son. And Michael G. Kehoe carries much of that emotional weight as Julian Dixon. Julian is a complicated man- an alcoholic, an estranged father, and someone who escaped Horntak Valley years ago but never truly escaped what happened there. When a missing child forces him back into the woods, Julian must confront the place, people, and secrets he spent much of his life trying to leave behind. Michael brought something essential to the role: humanity. And film critics have noticed. FictionMachine praised Michael for bringing a “valuable grounded quality” to Julian and described his character as the film’s emotional anchor. CineDump called his performance one of the film’s biggest surprises, praising the sincerity he brings to Julian and noting how effectively his performance carries the emotional weight of the story. Macabre Daily also singled out Michael for his compelling performance, particularly the emotional toll his character carries from growing up within an abusive community and the difficult choices he make as a parent. That depth comes from an accomplished filmmaker and storyteller in his own right. Michael is an award-winning writer, director, producer, and actor whose filmmaking career includes Second Dance, Dominion, HUSH, The Hatred, and 99 Problems. His work behind the camera gives him a unique understanding of what a story needs, and what a performance needs to accomplish within it. For Valley of the Horntak, we needed Julian to feel damaged without losing our empathy for him. Michael gave us exactly that. MICHAEL G. KEHOE as JULIAN DIXON Thank you, Michael, for giving Horntak its emotional center. #ValleyOfTheHorntak #MichaelGKehoe #ActorSpotlight #FolkHorror #IndieFilm by @mikehoe11

OFFICIAL SELECTION - H.P. LOVECRAFT FILM FESTIVAL We are incredibly excited to announce that VALLEY OF THE HORNTAK has been officially selected for the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon! For a film rooted in folk horror, psychological terror, ancient rituals, and the fear of forces beyond our understanding, this selection feels especially fitting. Since 1995, the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival has built a passionate community around cosmic horror, weird fiction, independent filmmaking, and stories that venture into the darker corners of the imagination. We’re honored that Valley of the Horntak will now become part of that tradition. Shot entirely in Southern Kentucky, our film follows an estranged father and son who join the search for a missing boy deep in the woods- only to discover a sinister cult and something far older and more terrifying waiting beneath the surface. This film was made independently by a team of filmmakers, actors, and crew who believed in creating something strange, atmospheric, and uncompromising. Seeing it continue its festival journey and finding an audience at a festival devoted to exactly this kind of storytelling means a great deal to all of us. Portland… the HORNTAK is coming. #ValleyOfTheHorntak #HPLovecraftFilmFestival #HPLFF #OfficialSelection #FolkHorror by @mikehoe11
