The best part about camping on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon isn’t the views.

It’s the silence.

Here time seems to stand still. There isn’t a soul around. No cell service. It’s one of the quietest places I’ve ever been.

I found this spot a couple years ago when first heading to Arizona and it was such a special place we extended our road trip just to stay an extra day. Grateful to be able to return and feel the solitude and true wilderness of the North Rim again.

Only about 10% of the Grand Canyon visitors go to the North Rim annually. It is a colder, harsher climate than the South Rim. But personally, I love it even more. Soon this will be covered with snow and closed for the season.

In the background you can see the Saddle Mountain Wilderness, with the snaking saddle mountain rolling up and down the hills below.

Unfortunately, the North Rim was badly burned last year in the 2025 Bravo fire. It was shocking to see this place change so intensely from the last time I was here. All of the trees were scorched. I know this area will recover and thrive again soon, but it was still sad to see.

Truly a special place. I will be back again one day!

Lover’s Knoll in Sedona overlooking Cathedral Rock.

This spot was awesome.. Sedona is a magical place at sunset. The rocks all come to life. People come from around the world to see it. I always love hearing the different languages on the trails here. Will definitely miss being just a couple hours drive away from the hiking and camping out here!

My must do’s in Sedona:
- Cathedral Rock
- Bell Rock
- Subway
- Javelina Cantina for views on the balcony, best margaritas in town
- Golf at Oak Creek Country Club
- Swim in Oak Creek
- Drive 89A through Oak Creek Canyon and Casner Canyon

My last day with the Cincinnati Reds was on Saturday! Grateful for the opportunity to work within a truly world-class sports medicine team. Everyone here treated me like family and helped me grow a ton this season.

Special thank you to Addison Tarr, Sarah Gamillo, Garrett Taylor, Eric Gonzalez, Kenny Matanane, Geremi Azcarate, and Jaime De Los Santos for all the time you each took to mentor me and help me become a better baseball PT. I will carry all that you’ve taught me for the rest of my career.

I’m proud of the effort that my players put in this year and look forward to keeping up with their progress. Going through rehab isn’t easy for anyone, especially when you’re out of commission and seeing your friends and teammates move closer to fulfilling their dreams. We can’t always control life, but we can take action every day to move closer to our goals. That effort compounds.

Of the roles I’ve had this year, one of the most meaningful parts of this position was helping with surgical transport. Taking someone to have surgery, often watching the procedure in the OR, and taking care of them immediately afterwards is a very human experience. Guys are often without their families and dealing with a lot of uncertainty. This is especially the case for international players traveling from the Dominican Republic and other nations, who may be coming to the U.S. for the first time. Grateful to have been able to support these athletes through one of the toughest points of their careers.

To everyone I worked with- thanks for an incredible season!!

This song always reminds me that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Putting yourself out there isn’t always easy but it’s necessary, and I find that the pain of inaction and missing an opportunity is often worse than going for something you think you want and failing. My Dad always used to say “he who hesitates is lost.” You gotta know what you want in life and pursue it.

Trust your gut.

This was filmed at one of my favorite camping spots in Pine, AZ. I always value the perspective that camping gives me… getting away from everyone and everything in your life and simplifying it down to water, food, shelter reminds me how much we actually need in this life.

One of my favorite things about music is its ability to bring back memories. Crazy how much nostalgia a song can hold and how it can throw you back in time. This song by Jack Johnson is one of those for me. So many great memories flood back when I play this one. Makes me think back to when I was first learning guitar and how far I’ve come. I still have a long way to go but I will always appreciate the journey music has taken me on. Grateful❤️
