NEW VIDEO! My friend John suggested back in 2017 that I do an addendum to I Want Everything, in which I would describe the multitude of vital things I already have and ask how could I possibly need anything else. I do have everything. It's in the video description and I don't want that to go unheeded. There never seems to be a time when it seems wholly appropriate to put anything out these days. There's so much pain and suffering, so much political corruption, so much fear and misunderstanding. But I'm an artist and this is the world from my point of view and I'm not going to lie about it thanks to being indoctrinated to keep it real in the 90s. This list is so very far from exhaustive and I do wish I'd added "I don't want to live in a country full of racists". Huge shout to @a.d.scruffs who are doing the looping for me here (!) Using a very rough guide I gave them, they put this music together in about 20 minutes and suggested where I join them for the solo at the end. We did 4 usable takes in one evening and what you see here is the final one that was the best. So with all that bluster out of the way, here is the sequel/addendum to I Want Everything. Video recorded at @firebirdstudiosuk by @louisveillon If the aspect is unpleasant to watch on #IG you will find the link to the video in my profile links. #music #video #idontwantanything #iwanteverything #desire #need #inequality #wealthgap #poem #poetry #mikedennis #violin #looper #banjo #doublebass #mandolin #adscruffs #collaboration #team by @mikemrhappy

"Track 4" - the spontaneously named track at @wildleafbristol for @greenstagelive back in December. I've done a little edit including credit-style subtitles. There's more footage to come from this gig, some that even shows my feet..... ...but looky here, here I am using this to promote my upcoming 🎻🎻gig at @grainbarge on 24th April with @in_silver__ and @thegreatunfurling 🎻🎻 The cycle continues! When will it stop?! Never, if you keep coming!! So I've got this idea. Before I go further, this is the very first baby iteration of this thing forming itself in my head, played at @beeremporium @thebeeremporiumopenmic which is the perfect place to demo such things to a lovely, receptive crowd. I went to see @dan_pollard_ and @wgoodchildmusic 's sound art installation on St Philip's Footbridge in Bristol on Saturday, "Voices of the Avon Tideway" - it's mesmerising, such a cool concept and you should totally check it out. While I was there, a small child had seen and heard enough (!) and had started beating the rhythm in this video on one of the grates in the floor of the bridge. He was doing it for about ten minutes. He was so small it made me wonder how he'd internalised this relatively complex rhythm. My plan is to create a full looped piece out of this, every note of which never strays from the same rhythm. It's going to be quicker and the chord sequence will be extended and more interesting. If anyone knows the origin of this rhythm, please let me know? I do know it's used in an insanely popular pop song that I'll let you figure out for yourself! #violin #loop #openmic #soundart #bristol #rappingviolinist #probablyrunoutofhashtagsbutillkeepgoinganyway #rhythm #tempo #boss #rc300 #blue #music #experiment #beeremporium by @mikemrhappy

N (at all)SFW. Ahh guys, thank you SO MUCH for coming along and making Thursday so good. Thanks especially to @bertysoundz and @pauljohnbailey for their blinding sets, their calm demeanour and capturing some of my set, like this long overdue return of my tune, "Work". My next gigs are: 25/9 at The Fat Tap in Weston-super-Mare 26/9 at Dick Willows Farm in Bath ...and I am so primed now with new (and new old) tunes to play! Absolutely love doing this. Thanks for letting me. #livemusic #rappingviolinist #grainbarge #violin #poetry by @mikemrhappy

Didn't mean for this to be an #ai rant but it's a bit perennial these days. Watching more artists fall victim to its charms literally every day, while the environmental and moral issues associated with it are steadfast. You'll be pleased to know I wasn't thinking about this at all while I recorded this - just practising my song wot I wrote. We artists need your real life support. I know it's hard. Your sofa is comfortable. Other artists are putting out brilliant visual art that makes you want to stay on your comfy sofa every night. But they all had to start somewhere. Personally, I've been "starting" for about 14 years now 😂 make that about 30 if you count from when I started writing my own music. What I'm saying is: without you coming along (to have a brilliant, entertaining night), all of this is going to die. Not that I want to be dramatic but it is. The artists, the venues, the sound engineers, the festivals... put your money where your mouth is. TICKETS IN MY BIO (click the link tree) 10th Of September 2026 @grainbarge Bristol. With @bertysoundz & @mikemrhappy I haven’t played many shows in the last few years due to various life stuff but also because I needed space to do a whole boat load of song writing. Some of the songs I’ll be playing at this gig will be for the first time EVER. If you’re in town it would be mean the world to us to see you there. I am looking forward to meeting some of you fabulous human beans. #bristolmusic #grainbargebristol by @mikemrhappy

THIS SATURDAY 22nd AUGUST we’re off to Weston-Super-Mare for a pay-what-you-want eclectic punk freakout at @thebritweston with @lithium.kicks and @mikemrhappy. It’s a very exciting lineup and promises to be a hell of a lot of fun. Then not this week but the week after that, FRIDAY 28th AUGUST we’re off to Chippenham to support the pop-punk chaos of @pebble_daisy and @battery.acid.band at The Old Road Tavern courtesy of @vamospromo . Can’t wait for this one! Thank you to The Lizard of @nomadlozars fame for the awesome footage of us opening for @thewildhearts last month. Extra special thank you to Nestor from @metallisedband for making us sound absolutely huge on the night, the camera doesn’t do it justice but our feet were vibrating and you made us sound great, cheers man. Many more shows to come! Seeya there! ❤️ taken in The Brit Bar by @mikemrhappy
