POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🙋🏻‍♂️ So now goodbye. After nearly 9 years, I’m stepping back from Darlo Darlings, and I’m super excited and proud to introduce your new lead administrators, Ace Mamun and Theresa Winters, two local legends who will shape the next chapter of Darlo Darlings. Please join me in welcoming them as your new Admins! 🎉

They love Darlo, Surry Hills and our fringe villages ❤️. With years of active community involvement, plus experience locally and internationally creating social networks and other community-led initiatives, they will bring fresh life and a brighter future for Darlo Darlings.

Like anything in life, change is important, and Ace and Theresa will bring their own flair and infectious energy to deliver more hope and optimism to Darlo Darlings ✨.

To all the Darlings I’ve connected with over the last 9 years, thank you! Your desire to make Darlo, Surry Hills and surrounds a great place to live, work and play has meant the world to me. Big thanks also to my partner Andrew, and to Gabrielle for the support over the years.

As Ace and Theresa settle in, please show them the same respect and courtesy you’ve shown me (for the most part lol), so they can focus on making this a great space for everyone. Having known them for many years, and with them being part of Darlo Darlings since the beginning, I know you’re in for a very pleasant change.

Keep sharing the best of our precinct and to our locals, businesses and not-for-profits who’ve always contribute positively, you’re the real heroes of our story to date. Huge appreciation also for all the businesses who have hosted our events over the years.

Thank you for being part of Darlo Darlings and keep looking out for one another.

Here’s to new beginnings!

Fun fact: my last post was a terrine video. 1,127 days later, my Instagram is back. The terrine was delicious, btw — I would have posted the final result but I got locked out. Sorry about that 🤣

🫶🏼 It was wonderful to tour the new facilities post The @girlsandboysbrigadesyd (GBB) recent renovation with Lord Mayor @clovermoore and GBB Executive Officer, Stefan Lamour-Jansson.

👉🏻 For decades, GBB have provided a safe, educational and inspiring environment for kids, whilst providing much needed support to families across Surry Hills and Darlinghurst. You can read about their great work, and ways in which you can help via the link in the comments below.

👏🏻 Great work as always GBB, and the renovation looks incredible!! taken in Surry Hills, New South Wales, Australia by @mikeygalvin

♎️ Libra birthday planning = no planning. Solution: a big red bus, a few real tourists and spontaneous fun. Keeping it simple.

Being a tourist in your own city is always a good idea 👌🏻

Superb visit to a true Menton institution, @pastapiemonte_menton , Créateur des Raviolis au Citron de Menton 🍋

Home of the famous Menton lemon ravioli, which we enjoyed at a restaurant that same evening (Tony). Absolutely delicious.

🤌🏻 Couldn’t leave without picking up truffle polenta, lemon risotto and mushroom risotto to try at home. Love that the risottos come with the dehydrated ingredients included, ready to cook.

🙋🏻‍♂️ We also met Luisa Delpiano Inversi, Master Artisan, Podcaster, Author and Secrétaire @citron_de_menton . She talked us through her fabulous book on citron and Menton and her collaborations with chefs Adrien Pedrazzi, Marc Lanteri, Renaud Oliver, Xavier Malamdran and Valerie Gonzales, to name a few.

🍝 A beautiful artisan house making everything fresh every morning with pure Menton love. Can’t wait to get cooking.

🍋 Colours and flavours of Menton, and the Kalizma — Elizabeth Taylor’s former yacht. Still sailing the Mediterranean, you can experience Hollywood glamour and yesteryear from about €105k per week.
