In an act of unparalleled audacity, I am releasing TWO Rene & Glumfoot books this autumn! TWO! The third picture book – The Thieves Beneath the Floorboards (out next week) and the first middle grade novel (for 7/8+) – The Rambler’s Curse (out Oct 10th). As is tradition now, I’ll be having a book launch at Bristol Galleries Waterstones, which YOU could come to. The last two have been great fun, and I hope to see you there. It’s ticketed (£5), and in an excellent twist, everyone will get a free pin badge! These arrived yesterday, and they are things of resplendent beauty. Currently, this event is the only place they are available! OCTOBER 8th @ 6 pm. Link to tickets in Bio. by @mikeyplease

THE EXPANDED EARTH is officially out tomorrow! Here I am, in my one nice shirt, talking about the wonderful winding ways in which I got to the final image. I hope you enjoy the book, and if you’re Somerset based, come and say hi at the @mrbsemporium event on April 15th or the @bookhausbristol event on April 29th. Links in bio! by @mikeyplease

Read Together! Happy Bookshop Day! Here are a couple of pieces of art I made (Ramblers Curse inspired) to support @booksaremybag mighty cause of getting bodies into bookshops - havens of imagination, right here in the real world. No idea where these prints / totes have been deployed. But I hope YOU got one. And hope you poked your nose through a bookshop door today. Tomorrow is also fine. by @mikeyplease

Thank you @waterstonesbristol for hosting us (a third year running) for the DOUBLE Rene & Glumfoot book launch last night. Blimey. Thank you also to everyone who came and everyone who helped out. The fabulous team at @harpercollinsch , my parents, my partner, my pals, my… (reaching for alliteration) puppies? (Children), who all lent a hand to pull it off.
3 - thanks @chocolategiftco for their actual bags of pickled bats, inspired by the book!
4 - thanks Edouard, seen here with his new baby Ogre.
5 - the publisher extraordinaire team! Featuring Rambler’s editor @tombonnick at one end and Thieves art director + Editor duo @candiceturveydesign & @al_slacker at the other!

I hope everyone had a hoot. I sure did. Now I sleep. 😴

From *The Thieves Beneath The Floorboards*. Rene & Glumfoot book 3. This is a midpoint in the book, where Rene slightly loses her mind. As did I, dear reader, in designing this trap. Which, in theory, would work! You’ll see how, exactly, upon reading the whole thing. Out now!
