Celebrating a month since #thethievesbeneaththefloorboards was released, we've been reading all three #reneandglumfoot books at bedtime.

It's the perfect time of year for the autumnally-themed illustrations and the stories are a refreshing change from some of the usual picture book depictions of women. Rene is a businesswoman, literally building it all from scratch!

@mikeyplease recently shared the brilliant illustration at no. 4 encouraging all of us read together, and that's exactly what we've been doing snuggled up at bedtime, as you can see in no. 3.

The little witch in no. 2 is my favourite tiny detail (so far -there are so many wonderful details to look for).

It’s been a busy week of deliveries at Kinder Collective! New brands, fresh designs and restocks of the things you’ve been loving lately. The hardest part has been to resist buying them ourselves!

We’ve had a HUGE delivery of books, and our book nook is bursting with new discoveries. From Lottie Brooks: Twelve Disasters of Christmas and Bunny vs Monkey: Day of the Heroes to The Rambler’s Curse by Mikey Please. We’re not sure who’s more excited ~ us or our own little and big ones, who are already getting stuck in!

We’re thrilled to welcome @classette_kids to the Kinder Crew. Never a dull school day with their joyful hair accessories ~ uniform-approved but definitely too cool to keep just for school✌🏼

We couldn’t resist the new @omyworld_ stickers, which are already making themselves at home on our laptops and water bottles. They also make the loveliest little stocking fillers!

@banwoodbikes is back in stock! The much-loved scooters and helmets have been restocked, and we’ve also got the cutest balance bikes ready for little adventures on wheels.

And a little local love! The lovely Lizzie @the_designdealership has designed our latest Kinder Collective Broadstairs postcards, and we couldn’t be happier with them. A little piece of our beautiful seaside town to send, share or keep.

And if all that wasn’t enough, our online Christmas shop is OPEN! Take a browse of our thoughtfully curated Christmas gifts for children aged 0–9, from children’s books and toys to creative activities, stocking fillers and little treasures to keep for years to come.

Shop online or pop into our Broadstairs children’s shop to discover all the newness. We can’t wait to share more with you!

THE RAMBLER’S CURSE! 🎉🎉🎉

Mikey Please is fast becoming one of my favourite creators of wonderfully weird, wildly imaginative children’s books, and The Rambler’s Curse is another cracking addition to his collection! 🙌✨

Building on the originality and offbeat charm of his previous work, this latest adventure is full of character and the kind of storytelling that makes you remember just how magical children’s books can be.

Another triumph from a seriously talented storyteller. More of this, please, Mikey!

Ad|Pr • 🪵 The Thieves Beneath the Floorboards 🪵

Rene and Glumfoot are back with another brilliant adventure, and this time we discover some unexpected visitors hidden beneath the floorboards in the café at the edge of the woods.

When one night Rene discovers a mud-pud missing, she is sure it must be mice. Determined to catch them before she has to close down she begins her research and sets out her own trap.

Come morning light, triumphant and pleased she inspects her trap to discover the mice aren't mice at all, but the very rare Bear-me-pigs!

Can Rene and Glumfoot figure out a plan to make everyone happy?

We loved reading this newest installment to the wonderfully quirky world Mikey Please has created - it is so full of weird and wonderful characters that you just can't help but love.

The rhyming text makes it is a joy to read aloud and we absolutely adore looking through the illustrations. The colour scheme screams cosy autumn read, and the changing angles and styles throughout the book make it so interesting to peruse - from wide shots to close ups, from full page spreads to sectioned images - each and every page is so detailed and full of delight to explore.

This is definitely a series that is worth checking out.
