Top Rangers Prospect Sebastian Walcott led the Southern Atlantic League in triples, extra base hits, and total bases while finishing second in hits and doubles.

Walcott’s 2024 performance is even more impressive when you consider his age - he was the youngest player (eighteen years old) in a league with an average age of 22.

At six-foot-four, Walcott is a tall shortstop with power and speed. With the emergence of Elly De La Cruz at the big league level, Rangers fans have reason to believe their future star can lead the Arlington infield for many years to come.

Texas promoted Walcott to Double-A Frisco so he could play in the Texas League playoffs, and Walcott wasted no time letting his presence be known.

In five games he slashed .348/.375/.609/.984 with a home run and seven RBI.

Some industry pundits have gone so far to suggest Walcott could become the greatest player ever born in the Bahamas to grace a baseball field if he continues progressing at such a rapid rate.

20 year-old Roman Anthony is the top hitting prospect in all of baseball 👀🔥

An outfielder in the Red Sox organization, Anthony was promoted to Triple-A after slashing .344/.463/.519 with 16 extra-base hits in 35 games.

Before he was promoted?

He led the Double-A Eastern League in slugging (.489) and OPS (.856).

Anthony looks poised for a big-time call-up to the big leagues in 2025, bringing with him immense excitement from the Boston fanbase.

Moises Ballesteros, one of MLB’s Top Prospects, had a 2024 season that’s been nothing short of heroic.

Ballesteros is the only player this season not named Jackson Holliday to be aged 20 or younger and get 250+ plate appearances in Triple-A, and he took full advantage of the opportunity.

Among players in that age group, across all levels of minor league baseball, only eight players hit more home runs than Ballesteros’ 19 and every single one of them spent most of their season at lower levels.

Starting his season in Double-A, Ballesteros hit 9 home runs, 43 RBIs, & .299/.372/.495 in 56 games.

He was promptly called up to Triple-A Iowa on June 18th and hit an impressive .281/.340/.471 with 10 homers & 35 RBIs in the remaining 56 games of the season (despite being seven years younger than the average age of players in Triple-A).

Ballesteros wasn’t done.

He packed his bags and headed to the desert where he played 19 games in the Arizona Fall league. With his final game being today, he finished with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs, and slashed .316/.376/.557.

He was even named a ‘Fall Star’ and finished third in the home run derby, bashing eight home runs.

By this point, mere mortals would consider the fall league the end of their 2024 campaign as most players head home and enjoy some vacation before beginning their offseason training.

Not Ballesteros.

When he gets home in Venezuela, he plans on playing in the Venezuelan Winter League for the first time.

“I want to make my Venezuelan League debut,” he said. “I want to play in front of my family and my people, and not only that but be around players who have been in the league for a long time.”

What an absolute legend 👑

Work ethic and passion of that caliber paired with a talent like Ballesteros is exactly the type of deadly combination carried by some of history’s greatest players.

“Hell yeah, that’s my protégé.” Manny Machado said of Sal Stewart, the top ranked hitting prospect in the Cincinnati Reds organization.

The praise by the San Diego Padres’ superstar was reported by MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon in a story published on February 23rd.

The very next day, Stewart launched a 415-foot home run - the first of his career in big league camp.

Konnor Griffin has some serious speed🏎️🏎️

Griffin was drafted 9th overall by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024.

His high school numbers from Jackson Prep (Flowood, MS) are impressive. In his 2024 senior season, he hit .559 with a .690 on-base percentage and .966 slugging, smashing 9 home runs, 13 doubles, and 4 triples, while driving in 39 runs.

He also stole 87 bases—leading all national high schoolers—and scored 76 runs.

The Martian👽

Jasson Dominguez crushed it in Triple-A last season—.309/.368/.480, 7 HR, 25 RBI, and 15 SB.

His 17 game MLB stint was unfortunately underwhelming hitting .200/.313/.400, 6 HR, 11 RBI, and 6 SB.

Edwin Arroyo is the Reds #1 prospect among all position players per @mlbpipeline, and for good reason.

Silky-smooth glovework paired with elite arm strength and precision, Arroyo is a natural leader in the infield at shortstop.

And the talent doesn’t stop there.

In 2023, Arroyo bopped 13 home runs and swiped 29 stolen bases in 123 games at High-A Dayton. In a late season promotion to Double-A, he hit .353/.400/.588 in four games.

Despite being only 20 years-old heading into spring training in 2024, he was widely projected to have a breakout 2024 before a season-ending shoulder injury sidelined him before the regular season even started

Arroyo was able to bounce back shortly after the minor league season ended and played in 19 games in the 2024 Arizona Fall League, finishing with 19 hits and 7 stolen bases.

After getting back into some game action, all signs point to Arroyo having the type of breakout 2025 season he was on pace for before the season.

“This is going to be my season,” Arroyo said. “I’m looking forward to doing my best and letting everybody know who I am.”

We already know Arroyo is a gamer, and if this season is in fact his best yet, the league is about to be put on notice - real quick.
