I’ve been transcribing a lot of my sax heroes recently, but decided it was time to give one of my own solos a little love before all the love has gone.

This is my 16 bars on Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “After The Love Has Gone” with @theyachtcoband at @berkleecollege!

Thanks to @skylandersson for the video!🎥

“Hotel California” by The Eagles (or more accurately…Eagles), arranged for the @mcpheebigband by @miles.mcphee21. This chart is very long and definitely a blow, but it’s one of my favorite tunes I’ve ever performed! I’m overall very happy with the band’s first run of it! Here’s a segment from my stand cam. Congrats to Miles on yet another killer arrangement! Enjoy!

Here’s all 3 solis from @callumau’s blisteringly great new chart “Swipe Right!” written for trumpets, trombones, and saxes.

I transcribed the solis by ear to see how much of the voicings I could accurately depict, and then I checked my work with the sample scores in Callum’s reels. I played the trumpet parts on soprano and the trombone parts on tenor.

Go stream pt. 1 of Callum’s spectacular new album “Sing Seven Seas” that features over 80 incredible musicians! And buy the CD version to get early access to the FULL DOUBLE BIG BAND ALBUM! I know I definitely am.
