Berlin was not supposed to be the redemption arc.

It was supposed to be the race where @milesandsplats stopped letting the watch take over the whole story.

After Chicago beat him up in every way a marathon can, the falls, the missed PR, the wall, the quiet frustration of knowing the day got away from him, he came into Berlin with a different kind of goal. Not softer. Maybe harder. Have fun again.

That sounds simple until you are halfway through a major, the heat is sitting on your shoulders, your hip decides to become a problem for the first time ever, and your brain starts doing that marathon math nobody asked for.

But somewhere out there, he chose to notice the crowd instead of the pain. The music instead of the doubt. The fact that he was running through Berlin, not just trying to survive it. Then he hit Brandenburg Gate and lost it.

Real tears. The kind you do not plan for. The kind that show up when your body is wrecked but something in you knows this is one of those moments you will keep forever. Star 5 was not about proving he could suffer.

He already knew that. It was about remembering why this matters in the first place.

New York started it. A legacy race for his dad turned into a Six Star chase. One finish line became permission to want more. To see the world. To show his daughter that big goals are allowed to look ridiculous before they look real.

Now Tokyo is waiting. Star 6. His family there to see it. A city he has always wanted to experience. The final piece of a journey that started as one race and turned into a whole new way of seeing himself.

Boston Marathon ‘26: The Race I Never Thought Would Happen 🦄

Boston meant so much to me for one sole reason: I never thought in a million years I’d be able to run this race. I don’t have a BQ. I won’t stop trying to better myself, I will always work hard, but achieving that BQ is massive.

So after connecting with Dave and @1wsfoundation, I was astounded that I had an opportunity to toe the line while making it meaningful, knowing that every dollar I’ve raised supports people globally. I’ve met amazing people who have had amazing journeys and was thrilled to start the race with them. Insanely thankful for you all ❤️.

The marathon also carries a reputation for being tough, and this is indisputably true. Weather may have been favorable, but it did not correct for a tough course. I was living my best life, controlled, from the beginning and through the first half (as evidenced by my silly dancing). The crowds were *phenomenal*.

I reached goal pace much sooner than anticipated, and was proud to have kept on for as long as I did, especially coming to the Newton hills around 16. My glasses/headphones *died* right then 🤬, and I’d never trained without music so I relied solely on the crowds and my mantras, adding on extra stress. Heartbreak Hill truly was heartbreaking. Hitting after mile 19, my quads felt cooked already. But (as predicted) had a good cry cresting it.

I pretty much blacked out from 21.5 on; I ran my fastest mile at 22 then fought like hell to maintain. I slowed down at 25 to look for my family. Didn’t find them on course but then rushed to the finish to grab that almost 7 minute personal best 🏅.

This race truly rewards the strategic and the determined. I am grateful to @alioop_0_o_runs @runtothefinish for giving me the tools to not only train, but to reframe my perspective: to approach with curiosity, not just resign to the pain. I am super thankful my family and friends everywhere provided layers of much needed love. I’m thankful to @bldoubleu and 👸🏻 for being there. I’m grateful to everyone who donated.

This was far more than a star or a PR; it was an experience of a lifetime 💙💛 taken in Boston Marathon Finish Line by @milesandsplats

Berlin Marathon 2026 🇩🇪: International Party of the Year

I went into this race already thinking to myself that, as somewhat undertrained (and especially minimally acclimated to the heat), this race was going to be more about the fun than the pace. It didn’t mean I wasn’t going to go after my best effort, but I didn’t want my mistake of last year (hitting the wall, missing the fun) repeat this year.

We started out great - restrained at the beginning, normal goal paces up to the half. Then the heat started really coming (which yes not as bad as last year, definitely still hot). Then I checked on a down runner at 17. Then, out of nowhere, my right hip started acting up - searing pain. I could still run but decided better to walk more than my run at that point. And as I saw the 3:45 and 4:00 pacers fly away, I waved goodbye and started soaking in the crowd, the songs, the dances, the vibes. I gave a couple of people hugs. I chatted with other runners on their walk breaks. I vowed to not miss the fun AND remember I’m still doing something *incredible* by running a marathon in BERLIN. This weekend wasn’t special because of what time I could or did achieve; it was amazing because of the people I met, the laughs I had, the sights/sites I saw, and the knowledge that I am still capable of incredible feats. No regrets - just a medal that represents an experience I’ll never forget.

Forever grateful for everyone in my corner: my family, @bldoubleu for coming out to see me and cheer me on ❤️ (and have a wonderful time exploring Berlin afterwards), my friends around the globe, my communities…everything I can do is because you all help give me the strength and encouragement to do what I can.

Star 5 🌟: Locked. We have ONE more left on this journey to achieve all original six stars. I’m thrilled, exhausted, excited, that I’m almost done with a journey I never thought I’d be on.

Here we go: Star Number 5! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Somehow remarkably calm tonight before the big race, and it’s more of a mental clarity that THIS is the party and victory lap it’s meant to be. I’m still hopeful my performance will reflect a great time but it’s nowhere near the forefront of what’s making this weekend special. Time to see what we can do @berlinmarathon

Berlin Marathon Opening Ceremony 🔥

Please forgive the awful cinematography and post production but I’m also getting ready for the Generali 5K 🤣

Insanely grateful to @wmmajors, the Gold Club, and the team for granting me this amazing front row opportunity to the opening ceremonies. Got up front with the elites (and even though he’s not running, Sebastian Sawe himself 🔥), met and had a lovely chat with robbiewilliams, and had an amazing time with so many lovely people, especially my fellow GC members. Truly a special event, and makes me even more excited for Sunday and the @berlinmarathon!!!

Aaaaaand that’s the last long run of the block! Was supposed to get 12 in but then got interrupted by princess, so we called it.

But we made it! 🎉 We’ve put in the work, and even though plenty of this block hasn’t gone exactly according to plan, we did the best we could. Just have one more long run, victory lap in ONE WEEK! 🇩🇪
