Here it is… our final night! Featuring not one, not two, but THREE of Pōneke’s premier acts to close our 2026 series out.

@dillonjomusic is the genre defying project of Wellington Based artists Betty Smith and Georgie Levien. Dillon Jo built paths between the elements of dream pop, shoegaze, folk, alt rock, and indie pop to create their genre defying sound. Having recently recruited Kahu Sanson-Burnett and Ruadh Munro, Dillon Jo has transformed their live sets into an unbridled big-sound shoegaze experience.

@milescalder released his solo debut album Autopilot Life in 2021, a self-reflective delve into waking up from an unexamined life, dressed in a psychedelic folk-rock palette that evoked late-era Beatles as much as contemporaries like Kevin Morby and Father John Misty. The album won over new fans and critics alike & led to a nomination for a prestigious Aotearoa Music Award (Te Kaipuoro Taketake Toa | Best Folk Artist 2022).

@_kkeira writes raw and messy music for alien listeners. Joined onstage by some familiar Pōneke talent, his earnest earworms pack more punch than ever. Themes of queerness, growing pains, love, and nostalgia shine through his lyricism and captivates audiences.

'Go Slow' has one of my favourite production moments: sucked through a portal to submerged bass and wurlitzer world by @milescalder

Go watch the floaty music video for 'Go Slow'. Chuffed with how this DIY video ended up. We had filmed this slowmo stuff just for fun trying out an underwater camera, but watching it back i could hear Go Slow over it. Pushing the colour into weird places felt perfect. by @milescalder

'Go Slow' is OUT NOW

Slow down, take time, close eyes, breathe.

Even the making of this tune was slow and ponderous. It started with just an acoustic guitar in my bedroom, a simple meditation on choosing your pace in life. We first recorded it as a full guitar-band jam at the end of a studio day, where @chrisarmourr blessed us with that murky guitar hook and near-one-note solo on the fly. @daylejellyman added his beautiful cascading wurlitzer and synth, sitting over @steve.moodie.insta 's bass and @nickgeorge.creative 's Floydy drums. We were so lucky to get the beautiful layered backing vocals from @deanne.krieg
@samuelfscott and I had lots of fun dissecting and frankensteining the final version from many layers to pull out distinct moments: The plunge from the guitar solo to just bass, wurli and drum machine is one of my favourite things we've made.

Deftly engineered, mixed and mastered by Dr Lee Prebble at @surgerystudios as per.

I made the music video myself just cobbling together some go-pro footage from holiday and messing with the colour until it felt right to the different vibey parts of the song. Thanks to the lovely @robyn._e for your filming, diving and patient input
