A reclamation journey, of what has long been our cultural staple. In these states of america, agriculture has been a deliberately cruel part of our existence here. Yet agricultural knowledge remains a vital skill for independence and the formulation for a harmonious lifestyle which was evident before our undesired arrival in these beautiful lands. These skills are inherent to us all and is embedded into our DNA.

Agriculture is made hard through the absence of centuries of organized knowledge that is undergoing constant revival, a lack of intentional relationships with the land, our food, each other, and the life below, along with partnering with nature—something that many of us have been separated from.

Agriculture has been a generational inheritance of much pain and suffering but in this era it has to be part of our future for it will heal, allow us to reclaim our cultural staple, re-envision generational freedom, embrace our own technology, apply ancestral wisdom, and become a foundation for justice through which we can ensure greater responsibility and freedom in our existence on Earth. The road ahead is not easy but a few shared steps forward shortens the journey home. For it is awaiting our return.

8032 new rising suns,

i believe that under the sun one has the power to create and live in a heaven or “hell”.

whichever one chooses will try to spread amongst others, cause disruption and manifest itself as an ever-expanding (dream) vision for our planet.

the choice to accept is your own. heaven will have you experiencing all the seasons, and “hell” is cold.

Este Mvskokvlke 🦅

humans built and inhabited these earthmounds 17000+ years ago * or long enough in the cycle of existence that it seems like an entirely different world. these humans were of the Muskogee Nation or Este Mvskokvlke the 4th largest known tribe in these lands and were only “removed” 200 years ago.

*yes! this coincides with the enslavement of African people in the Americas, in fact inhabitants of these lands were also captured, enslaved and shipped away from their homeland*.

the Muskogee people presently exist in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and self-govern as the Muskogee (Creek) Nation.

our level of sustainability, regeneration and elevation in this century hasn’t even come close to what humans are truly capable of achieving but it all comes around like the sun. go see it, breathe it, touch it, draw it, connect with it and get inspired because its live at the earth lodge. this place was not made for us we were made from it. taken in Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park by @milesofthesol_

woke up in nyc, maybe i was dreaming felt real enough either way

going after my dreams in part for all those who no longer can bc why else do we live on….dream on you because they will try and bomb us here too (Philly May 13th, 1985), but we stars you know! 🆓 🇵🇸 🇸🇩 🇨🇩 and all those trying do live a dignified existence in spite of the human betrayal

reality feels as if i’ve been skipping days lately working just to live out my dreams and manifest the cosmic visions. summing it up as a part of the process, one that must enjoyed with life experiences and people along the way

also having to check myself to ensure that my dream scape does not happen at the expense of others, meaning that my dream becoms someones else’s nightmare. can’t have that happen, we’ve seen it all before. knock knock…the american dream is at your doorstep, will you let it in? not in my dreams

there’s a Swahili proverb that states “The one who walks idly is not like the one who sits idly. The one who walks might pick up something”

theres only hope in present action and reflection for future transformations. taken in Brooklyn Bridge Park by @milesofthesol_

ft. an excerpt from my heart to yours

my recent travels gave me a glimpse into the life of a rice farmer under different growing systems present throughout the world, i gained a greater appreciation and respect for what is required to produce an abundant harvest to not only feed families and enrich livelihoods but to also provide food for many people know and unknown. to me it’s one of the most remarkable aspects of our humanity.

I feel that labor is one of the highest art forms through which love is made visible and shown throughout our world

it requires the mind, body and spirit to compose actions that can create, change, produce and alter life in the present and future.

in great appearance labor is also the most exploited form of love and readily taken in advantage as an attempt to get ahead of others and garner enough capital to separate oneself from the outcomes of any consequential decisions.

the squander of this love only put us all further behind. there are outcomes that opposes life which directly conflict with our universe that has delivered the ingredients for life to grow, evolve, heal, love, thrive and reproduce eternally.

there is plenty more work to do so for now i remain a useful piece in the extremely expansive puzzle of life by knowing that i have been created as part of the whole body only to be consumed and made anew. it has sense brought me much joy, comfort, appiness and acceptance. from my heart to yours, salamat po! taken in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines by @milesofthesol_

Where It All Began🏗️🌱

Earlier this week I returned to Champion Theme Middle School to conduct a soils education and exploration workshop during the 7th and 8th grade Garden STEM Showcase. The event included a Foodination Station, showing students how to prepare foods grown in the garden and how to reduce food waste. My personal favorite was the Paint with Soil workshop led by my Sister, and a Guess The Soil game created with the help of a 7th student using soil samples that were collected from different areas around the school.

It was extremely fulfilling returning to my former middle school where I was first introduced to the agricultural sciences and connected with a truly inspiring educator, Mrs. Sureka Taylor. The best part of the event was being there with family, having an opportunity to inspire others, connecting with former classmates, helping students implement their own ideas and most importantly cultivating Earth skills by bringing nature into the classroom. I look forward to doing this again and I encourage all of you to apply your knowledge and skills to engage and encourage the Youth within our communities. We all have to want more than the options that are typically presented to us. taken in The Champion School by @milesofthesol_

just nature in the heart of nature—i say, the intentional separation and removal of peoples from the soil beneath them on any continent (past or present) is gross violation of a dignified human existence and cast a scar upon generations.

conjoining ourselves with our greatest mother and being in her defense of her gifts is a way around. plant yourself in some earthly doings and give praise (pray) taken in Alexandra (Gomora) by @milesofthesol_
