From Sebastian about the 1st image: PANORAMA | BLEND Stairway to the Stars – Pedra Rija under the Milky Way Madeira, a Portuguese island in the Atlantic, is renowned for its dramatic cliffs, lush greenery, and diverse landscapes. Beyond its stunning coastal scenery and year-round vistas, the island is also a sought-after destination for astrophotography, offering crystal-clear night skies that reveal the Milky Way in breathtaking detail. In July 2025, Laura and I embarked on a 10-day adventure to Madeira, excited to capture some astrophotography like this panorama. The conditions were brutal—fierce winds whipped around us, making long exposures a true test of patience and stability. The walk back felt like a mini expedition: darkness all around, gusts threatening to push us off balance, and the exposed terrain adding an edge of wild unpredictability to every step Pedra Rija, Madeira, Portugal EXIF: Sony A7 III a 5x3; 24mm; f/1.8; ISO3200; 13s Stitching in PT Gui https://www.instagram.com/sebastianknoll/ https://www.facebook.com/sebastian.knoll.583/ https://sebastianknoll.net/ by @milkywaychasers

From Roxana about this image: The stars guide us, the ruins remind us... the future is in our hands Ig: https://www.instagram.com/flory.ro This year, I decided to venture into the heart of Tuscany for the Geminid meteor shower, where the sky is darker and the stars shine brighter. I must admit, ! felt a little nervous - I usually prefer shooting in the mountains. But this year, I think I achieved something bigger: doing what I love and conquering the fear of the dark, shooting alone in the night. Tag a friend who might enjoy this Milky Way image and journey! From Taylor about this image: STORY: My palms were sweaty, knees weak, tripod steady… full-blown mom’s spaghetti mode. Because when you’re standing alone at the edge of a canyon in complete darkness, trying to frame the Milky Way over one of the wildest roads in the Southwest, it gets real . This is Shafer Trail, deep in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, an area designated as an International Dark Sky Park and one of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve ever photographed. I shot this tracked vertorama just feet from a thousand-foot drop. Below me, the dizzying switchbacks of the trail spiraled like a forgotten path through Mars, while the Milky Way rose above it all like a pillar of light. If you look closely, you’ll spot the soft shimmer of airglow along the horizon and even a shooting star streaking across the sky like it showed up just for this shot. I’m not saying it was for you… but you should probably make a wish just in case. From Ferran about this image: TRACKED&STACKED, BLENDED RRSS: https://www.instagram.com/fer_astrolandscape_photo/ LOCATION: Pont d'en Gil, Menorca, Spain HISTORY: ✨On the Island✨ It was a mandatory stop on the trip. The truth is, the weather wasn't looking good at all, and the only cloudless night was the first, so I had to try it and bring my version of Pont d'en Gil. It's not the typical shot, since inspecting the terrain with light isn't my thing, apparently... but the little flowers did the trick. I was surprised by the amount of light there is across the island, but that wasn't going to stop me. —————————————— 📸: Sony Alpha 7iii Astromod 🔭: Sony FE 20mm 1.8f 🔴: Ha 12nm Astronomik 🔭: Benro Polaris 🎨: LR + APP + PI + Ps ✨: Bortle 4 by @milkywaychasers

One of those nights you never forget: cloud coverage, subtle airglow, and the clearest Milky Way I’ve seen in a long time (with a bit of wind, but we don’t talk about that haha). Phew, what a ride that was! While photographing this stunning composition of comet Lemmon above the Old Castle, I had more luck than skill. The weather forecast for that evening was a real puzzle, but I had to try my luck! When I arrived at the location, the sky was completely clear, not a single cloud in sight. Full of motivation, I rushed to the meadow below the castle and searched for a spot where I could capture the comet. I admit, I had quite a few problems finding the ideal position, and during that time, the sky started to cloud over. I said to myself, “Oh damn, I need to start shooting the comet!” When I saw the first tracked frame of the comet, clouds were already appearing at the top, but the comet was still visible. I only had a few minutes left to successfully capture the comet above the castle. It was pretty intense! Until I started editing, I didn’t know what to expect from this composition, but in the end, I made the most of that night, and thus, a new memorable photograph of this wonderful comet and the Old Castle is alive. The comet will come closest to Earth today- October 21. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to photograph it due to poor weather conditions. We haven't had much luck with the tides this Milky Way Season, but this location is fantastic even during high tide. We were also blessed with mild temperatures, clear skies and even a wee bit of blue/green airglow. I chose to track the sky once the Milky Way had moved west and past the trees. This was the scene probably an hour earlier. Tag a friend who might enjoy this Milky Way image and journey! From * about this image: How much does light pollution impact the filming of my Milky Way Timelapses? The short answer is that it drastically affects how much detail and color you can capture with your camera. For example this timelapse was shot from a Bortle 3 in West O’ahu, HI. If you take a look at my previous video, it was shot from a Bortle 4 location looking into a Bortle 6. It’s like night and day literally. The positive side of being in a light polluted location is that your foreground is always very well lit up. Maybe lIl create a side by side comparison in mv next video. rei Sony a7iii and TTArtisan 11mm 2.8 1@ 200 shots at 15s, f/2.8, ISO 6400 @tartisanofficial #milkyway #stargazing by @milkywaychasers

From Ralf about this image: TRACKED / STACKED / PANO / BLEND 'Cosmic Reflection' SOCIAL fb.com/skypointer2000 instagram.com/skypointer2000 ralf-rohner.pixels.com STORY As Milky Way core season winds down, Orion rises again to dominate the night sky. At the end of August, I joined Benjamin Barakat, Jeremy Singer, and Sadeq Hayati for two nights of imaging in the French Alps. While scouting, we found an unnamed mountain lake that not only aligned with the setting Milky Way core, but also produced a perfect reflection of Aiguille Verte and Grande Jorasses, with Orion climbing above the peaks. Although I captured the planned frames of the setting core, my primary target quickly became Orion with this unique alpine reflection. Tag a friend who might enjoy this Milky Way image and journey! From Tracy about this image: I’m pretty anti shooting weddings but I love shooting portraits under the stars.. so when @big_kansas reached out I was hesitant to join them on their journey in June, the chance to shoot their wedding portraits won me over.. The wedding itself was at the Narrows in Zion and if you look at previous posts you will see the actual wedding images. We went the next 3 nights in a row to 3 different locations with @big_kansas & @airheadunicorn73 in their wedding garb in the 3 digit heat. That means I still have two more portraits to edit, but this one makes it all worth the effort! We hiked about 1.5 miles here and explored for a while at sunset. I shot the foreground at blue hour, and then we spent the next few hours hanging out on the warm rocks as we waited for the Milky Way to rise. My tripod stayed in the exact spot the entire time. I ran a Timelapse, shooting all the way until the clouds to go over the sky and then we hiked back out to the cars and drove back to our AIRBNB to shower and crash out..
