Remembering Cassandra Wilson

As a seminary student living in NYC, I got the chance to see Miss Wilson perform many times. Her voice was spiritual, moving, captivating, rich in textures and tones, moody, smoky, full of the blues, and supreme. I remember going to her dressing room at the Blue Note Jazz Club and she sang 'Happy birthday' to me. Most notably, her amazing albums, her work with Steve Coleman and Five Elements, later to become m-Base Collective, and with Mr. Wynton Marsalis's 1997 Pulitzer Prize winning oratorio, "Blood on the Fields," will always be remembered. Miss Wilson was caring, compassionate, supportive, attentive to the needs to others, and full of joy. Rest well. Here is a beautiful love song called "You Move Me," from the epic soundtrack movie, Love Jones. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️ by @millardsouthern
