Every Social Worker should be in this room!!

Social Work is at a crossroads.
We are navigating so much, including threats to our profession. A profession that is expanding into new spaces while still fighting to be valued in the ones we helped build.

And somewhere in all of that, we have to ask:
What are we going to do about it?
Because the future of Social Work cannot simply happen to us.
We have to build it.

In March 2027, we’re bringing Social Workers from different generations, practice areas, communities, and perspectives into one room...not just to earn CEUs, but to talk honestly about where our profession is, what we’ve lost along the way, what is worth protecting, and what needs to change.

This is about remembering why Social Work exists.
It is about reclaiming our voice.
Our value.
Our influence.
Our profession.
And then deciding (together) where we go from here.

Fellow Georgia Social Workers, what did you hear tonight?

Tonight’s gubernatorial debate gave Georgians an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their priorities, perspectives, and vision for our state.

As Social Workers, these conversations matter.

The decisions made at the state level show up every day in the lives of the people and communities we serve... through mental health care, education, housing, healthcare, child welfare, public safety, economic opportunity, and access to resources.

So after tonight’s debate, we want to hear from you:

What stood out?
What was missing?
What issues deserved more attention?
And most importantly, what are you thinking about as you prepare to vote?

At MSWC 2027, we’re reimagining the breakout experience with a variety of formats designed to help you learn, participate and connect.

Expect a variety of breakouts!! Maybe workshops, labs, roundtables, masterclasses, case rooms, town halls, simulations, game shows, debates or hot seats.

Some sessions will help you build practical skills. Others will invite honest conversation, critical thinking, collaboration and a little friendly competition.

Nearly 1 in 2 Social Workers identified work-life balance as one of their biggest professional challenges.

That raises an important question: Is the problem really that Social Workers need better boundaries or are many workplaces structured in ways that make balance nearly impossible?

High caseloads. Emotional demands. Documentation after hours. Limited staffing. Pressure to remain available. The work may end for the day, but the weight of it often does not.
