Where do I start! I met so many great people these past two days. Thank you to Erica Anderson LMSW for putting on this amazing conference to encourage and connect millennials in Social Work! I’m walking away feeling so inspired, rejuvenated and confident! Meeting Dylesia the founder of @traptherapist to @thebeardedsocialworker who is doing great work in Boston and co founder of @melanatedsocialwork to the @millennialdatingcoach who is simply a beautiful soul that is so unapologetically herself! To @chauncey_nelson_ who has dedicated more than 10 years of his life to enhance the life of inner city youth at higher education institutions and in the community! Lastly Dr. Edward Valentine being one of the first Neuroscience Clinical Social Workers breaking the misconceptions of Social Work and of Puerto Rican decent!!! So inspiring and uplifting to encourage us as a profession to demand the respect we oh so deserve! Pyschology + Sociology = Social Work #periodT and to all the amazing women & men I met I will see you next year!

This is honestly a thank you to all the women that have found their why and passion in the social work field or want to find their why. I had the opportunity to see it all come full circle this weekend at the Millennial Social Work Conference. I have been going so hard on myself because of the recent events I’ve went through. I can honestly say I have my “why” somewhat figured out. So thank you Jane Addams, Arizona Cleaver Stemons, and all the women that presented this weekend and met. 💕 Also a huge shoutout to Dr. Tartt, he made me feel like I could go open up a private practice tomorrow. #internationalwomensday #ilooklikesomebodymamawhohadtopickuptheykidbecausetheydaddyleftthematschool 🙃

To be in a room with like minded young Black clinicians has inspired and motivated me these past two days. Thank you @millennialswc for hosting an amazing conference, for millennials like myself to have a safe space where we can be celebrated and connect!
