It’s been half a year since I’ve been practicing sobriety. Feeling good is what I want and where I need to begin. Cutting alcohol is only one of the many things I can do to feel good, but it’s also an immediate path to feel good! I have a long way to go but at least I know what I want so I can match my behavior. ⁣

After ordering the non-alcoholic “Potion of Persephone” while dining out, I looked at the hubs and said, “Wait a minute. I can make this at home.” A famous line of mine that he’s used to hearing. Every ingredient on the list (minus the booze) I had AT HOME. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣So it was that same evening that I found a book called, “Mindful Mixology” by Derek Brown. I pretty much cut the word “mocktail” in my vocab as I quickly learned that these cocktail pioneers actually oppose the word “mocktail” because it diminishes the seriousness of the drink, resonating as a joke. 😐 ⁣⁣

👉🏼 He said, “Sophisticated drinks don’t require alcohol.” And I just couldn’t agree more!⁣⁣

I love surprising myself with what drink I can come up with using what I already have in the kitchen. ⁣⁣

🍹Give my non-alcoholic “Pink-Rose Dragon Cocktail” a try and let me know what you think! Don’t forget to add fresh rosemary sprigs at the end because it just elevates your senses with each sip 😉⁣⁣

Here’s how to make rosemary simple syrup: (I made extra to add into my lemonade next time but for this recipe I only added 2 Tbsp)⁣⁣
- 4-5 rosemary sprigs ⁣⁣
- 2 cups water ⁣⁣
- 1/2 cup sweetener of your choice (I used @lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener) ⁣⁣
Rinse rosemary under cold water. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring well so sugar dissolves. About 5 min. and remove from heat to let syrup steep for about 15-30 min. Have fun!⁣⁣

Onyx woke up in the middle of the night and came inside our room. With eyes teary he said, “I had a bad dream. Can we pray?” 🥹🫶🏼 I hugged him tight and we prayed..
To hear his little voice say AMEN fuels motherhood!

If his default is to talk to God, then I know that he’ll soon understand his identity in Christ, and that the safest place he’ll be—is staying in God’s will.

God is trusting me even though I don’t always know what I’m doing as a parent. All I know is that I’m never giving up on nurturing his love for a strong prayer life!!

We can teach our children many things, but teaching them to pray will anchor them—so that no matter who they’re with, no matter where they are, or no matter the circumstance, they know they have access to God—where true PEACE, LOVE, and JOY is. by @milliejovenal

I wanna thank all of you for taking the time to think of me on my birthday. I will properly respond to all of you soon because you’re wonderful!! 🫶🏼 Your sweet words landed in the middle of grieving, as we lost someone who meant SO MUCH to our family💔 His name was Michael. He is deeply loved by his wife Marjorie and their three children, Presley, Paige, and Peyton—our God children.

We quickly went off island to hold Michael’s family tight..

It would mean so much to me for your prayers or for simply sharing this to others.

And I’ll be eternally grateful for those who’ll decide in their hearts to give🙏🏼

God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)

It will be THE GIFT I can truly feel this birthday to see others help us carry his family through during their hardest season of life 🥹
