"It is ironic that a Labour Prime Minister who made a promise to solve problems, not score points, has now shown he is willing to disrupt well-run councils for fear of Green success."

Jackdaw offers just 27 jobs, 35 million tonnes of carbon, and no change to energy security or bills.

Greens offer a different vision. Our own homegrown, renewable energy, creating thousands of British jobs and investing in our children's futures.

The fabulous and unstoppable @hannahtheplumbermcr, the brilliantly powerful @millward_rachel, and the force of nature @louisamunchtheory! Total fangirl moments. Water IS life. It is NOT a luxury or a commodity and should never be used as a source of profit to serve a few. 💦💚

Water belongs to all of us. We depend on it to live, yet we’ve allowed private companies to profit while our rivers are polluted, our bills keep rising and communities are left without reliable supplies.

At the Green Party Conference in Brighton, our Deputy Leader and Wealden District Councillor, Rachel Millward @millward_rachel, announced a bold new commitment to bring South East Water and Thames Water back into public ownership immediately, without compensating shareholders and creditors.

Water should be run for people, not profit. Money should go towards fixing infrastructure, protecting our rivers and ensuring everyone has access to clean, affordable water. Not lining the pockets of shareholders.

It’s time to take back our water. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The Green Party is a proudly democratic party, but our exponential growth means that our processes need updating. Then we can realise all our potential and model the participatory democracy we want to see across the nation. by @millward_rachel

“Burnham wouldn’t be there without Zack, because we won four times as many votes from Labour as Reform.”

Green Party Deputy Leader Rachel Millward, on BBC Newsnight, discussing Zack Polanski’s influence on moving Labour to the left. by @millward_rachel

Rachel Millward on #C4News "It isn't a bad result, it's our second best by-election result ever"

"To be making a seat which has been a safe Labour seat since 1983 into a marginal, just shows how far we have come"

"We wouldn't have imagined that kind of electoral presence a year ago"

"Pollsters like John Curtice have made clear that if we keep going on like this we'll be a really serious electoral force"

C4News, "Do you think not turning up to your biggest conference in your history and not voting on its most controversial motion was leadership by your leader?"

Rachel Millward, "Zack made the decision to campaign in the by-election because the strategic advantage of potentially winning our sixth seat would do more for the Greens and help us speak out more strongly against this issue than anything else would"

"We would still have Starmer if it wasn't for Zack. he has allowed Burnham to come and take the positions he has"

"I want to be really really clear, we will not tolerate anti-semitism in the party or in the community"

C4News, "And Zack Polanski can survive this period?"

Rachel Millward, "He absolutely can"

My view: The attempt to frame this as a failure is deeply unserious. A party does not need to win every contest for a result to show a major change in the electorate.

Labour should be asking why voters in one of its former fortresses were prepared to look elsewhere in such numbers. It cannot rely forever on fear of the Conservatives, nor assume progressive voters will accept little change on the issues that matter to them.

Antisemitism must always be confronted directly, consistently and without caveat.

But a difficult internal row does not erase the wider political reality: the Greens are now capable of putting Labour under genuine pressure in places where that once seemed impossible. by @millward_rachel
